WHAT IS A LOVABLE ROGUE?

  • He chooses who he may help and it will come at a cost, even if you are not aware of it!

  • Sticks their Neck out for nobody, usually!

  • When you think he's let's his guard down, You feel the most desired Woman in the world!

  • He often slips the wrong side of the law and never gets his hands dirty!

  • When drunk and you are the woman he loves, he will speak to you of love and regrets!

This list is just some of my ideas. Feel free to offer names and at least 3 reasons why

Captain Malcolm Reynolds.

*He swears by his pretty little bonnet he will end you.

*There may be some slight turbulence (on the ship) and then explode.

*Always looking like he has arrived on time and asks what does they make him ("big damn hero, sir")

Ain't he just?

Well, Han Solo in the original Star Wars and Empire. Less so after the whole carbonite thing (hey, it changes you).

There's an element of heat in this story.

Consuming Fire of Her Desire - Elements comp entry

Zorro

Remington Steele. If you don't know/are too young to remember, Steele was an early pre-Bond role for Pierce Brosnan. The premise was that a woman PI realizes that she isn't getting respect, or clients, so creates a fictitious male partner names Remington Steele. Then one day she meets a charming rogue type who becomes the face of Remington Steele. Hilarity and lots of "will-they?" ensue. It eventually turns out he has a history as conman and thief, with Efrem Zimbalist Jr., whose daughter Stephanie played the female lead, showing up as his old mentor. Good show for the most part and likely helped Brosnan get the 00 eventually.

(In fact, IIRC, at one point he was poised to succeed Roger Moore but then NBC renewed Steele and used Brosnan's contract to hold on to him. So he ended up having to wait something like another decade to finally play Bond)

Oh yes you had me at Pierce Brosnan

Rhett Butler

'No, I don't think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That's what's wrong with you. You should be kissed, and often and by someone who knows how. '

'Frankly my dear I don't give a damn.'

My mother told me, when Clarke Gable appeared on screen without a vest. Vest sales went down by 40%

The only competiton for me is between;
Childhood choice: Han Solo, self-centred but comes around to save the day.
Safe choice: Jack Sparrow, selfish yet selfless and comical.
Controversial choice: Frank Castle (The Punisher), does bad people (really) bad and good people good.

All are completely different people with different agendas

I seem to write a story on average every 1.5 years.

I liked the different agendas, yet they're still classed as been a Lovable Rogue

I don't have a clue who Frank Castle is, I'll check him out.

The other 2 are up there with the greats, in film history.

Is it the actor or the character, that makes a Lovable Rogue?

Finally, are woman still attracted to lovable Rogues?

I've checked out top ten all time Lovable Rogues and Han Solo tops most poles.

I'd like to know, was it Han Solo or Harrison Ford that was the Lovable Rogue

Look also at Errol Flynn as Captain Blood and Johnny Depp as Captain Sparrow. Both out for themselves, yet most of the trouble they end up in. When they Stick their neck out for someone else.

Thank you for the update, you wrote Jack and Han's traits perfectly

Is the Punisher a similar character to Dexter?

Casablanca; Rick

  • Rick: Now, you've got to listen to me! You have any idea what you'd have to look forward to if you stayed here? Nine chances out of ten, we'd both wind up in a concentration camp. Isn't that true, Louie?

  • Captain Renault: I'm afraid Major Strasser would insist.

  • Ilsa: You're saying this only to make me go.

  • Rick: I'm saying it because it's true. Inside of us, we both know you belong with Victor. You're part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.

  • Ilsa: But what about us?

  • Rick: We'll always have Paris. We didn't have it; we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.

  • He gave up the only woman he ever loved
