Is it an issue of 'monogamy' that some people have the issue with? Technically in this case it's all in the open without deception to either partner and a consensual mutual adventure based on prior agreed upon rules. In essence it's the separation of sex vs love.

I can see why many people aren't into threesomes or swinging or watching or anything along those lines because the impact of visually watching their partner with someone else.

Technically speaking - cheating on one's wife or husband without them knowing is far more of a morality curve-ball than this, in my opinion... yet it seems to be far more common (and acceptable) in society for some reason.

I don't think it is about morals at all. For me it is about not wanting to watch my partner with someone else. Again, morals is not IMO an issue. It is about something else.

Yeah, sort of. Not that the other would want to "not see it" so if they didn't it is ok. LOL Most people who go outside their marriage for sex (classic definition of cheating) without their partners approval, don't TELL them they are doing it. So that too is not the same either. It IS about the concept of monogamy withing a relationship..... but hypocrisy exists. For example, a person who is "cheating" on their spouse would probably still not want the spouse to do the same thing... whether they saw it or not.

I think you are making the choice black or white, but the reality is a LOT more gray. ;)

Oh, I agree it's very gray. Matters of sex and love usually are.

Same as how in the scenario the OP presented, I would find that while it's not technically monogamous, it's also not cheating. The latter is an issue for me, while the former is not. We are a society, often tend to associate them together. I can't speak for all - but I think that's the viewpoint that makes the scenario exciting or appealing to those who are into it and looking to explore the area of non-traditional forms of monogamy.

We, as human beings, are not naturally monogamous creatures. Instead of fighting against it, scenarios like this basically work with our biological tendencies. So - that would be one of the benefits (I think someone questioned this in an earlier post). But as you said - many are not ready for this kind of reality. And if they aren't - it's definitely best to avoid it.

For the most part, I agree with you on what you just posted. Not in disagreement enough on some minor issues to keep going with it though. smile I don't think, however, that it can be boiled down to some not simply wanting to deal with "this kind of reality"; as if they are somehow denying themselves something and living in some not reality based fog. We as humans are set aside from all other creatures because we can control ourselves, and I will leave it at that. ;)

It is quite often best to avoid a LOT of things, for a good many reasons. :)

But like I said, heck, to each their own. As long as all involved are in agreement it is fine. However, many times people THINK they are in agreement, but then after act, they find they really were not...... and that is so unfortunate, and tragic.

Been reading the various comments and clear its obviously not for all, however I think its not a matter of a woman being passed around like a sex toy.
