I think it's fairly safe to say that 90% of anything you might read in Cosmo -or- in Maxim magazines, should never really be paid much attention to. Their main job is to sell copy and ads.

As I stood there slackjawed in my gym shorts, t-shirt and sandals, staring with wide opened mouth at my refrigerator - the front door opened and I looked through the dining room towards the foyer.
I can't now even remember her name, but she said, "Good morning darling, I've just been down at your mailbox and admiring your rose bushes; it looks like you received your paycheck!"

I chuckled and went ahead making coffee...I needed some and a lot of it. As the machine began brewing and she was chattering in my living room about how she always drank tea and how coffee was bad for 'you', etc...I excused myself to my master bathroom so I could use my portable phone and call my pager with a fake phone number.
2 minutes later, the pager started its obnoxious beeping and I showed her that 'work had called'.
I offered her a ride to her vehicle, she accepted, slipped me her phone number and asked me for mine...I gave her my correct number, but I would screen all incoming calls for the next several days, just in case.
I took her to her car and then drove back home, giggling and thinking to myself.
'Why me?'

Of the four things they mention in that article, the one about the girl talking about her ex all the time is the only one that might bother me.

In the linked article, just refer to earlier posts. Only going on and on about an ex is really "bad." And it's more rude than anything. To bring this person into conversation is only to compare you to them, and that's fine once or twice, as long as you win. Beyond that, you'll start to wonder if they're still hung up on them.
That said, as above, the reasons for dumping a woman? Lying, almost at all, and cheating. Those are gimmes. But it's possible for two people to just grow apart. I had one relationship that was going fine on that "new relationship" energy, and then one day I realized she just had zero inclination to "do better." It wasn't that she was in a bad place either; just a lack of drive.

Most of those things can be annoying but not grounds for breaking up unless this is all she talks about, ever. To me the worst one is the bad body image disease. When a girl is not fat but she constantly whines that she is it can make me mental. I don't mind her talking about her ex either unless she's comparing him to me.

Oh yeah, boring in bed is a big one for me. I've never dumped a girl for that reason, but I've avoided relationships with girls that are boring in bed.

I will confess to dumping a girl because of her own poor self image and fixation on fad diets etc. I dated her because she appealed to me, however, once I started to get to know her, her constant self criticism of her own looks began to feel like an insult to my taste in women. 
That was many years ago when I was a less sensitive and worldly wise chap. I now realise that she probably had some serious issues to contend with and was looking for support, but, at a then spritely 22 years of age all I wanted was to get laid without too much drama.

I've ditched the plan to ask a woman out for a second or third or fourth date, after witnessing how she treats either me or other people.
If she's constantly checking or answering her cell phone while on a date with me...that's unattractive and she couldn't tell me any easier, that she's got bigger fish to fry.
If she's flippant towards people who are serving us...short with wait staff, overly argumentative, or just rude. I'll deep six her.
If she's catty towards other women or overly flirtatious with other men on dates 1 through 3...she can go be someone else's annoyance.
I'm a smoker, and most often my dates have been smokers also. Not always, but usually. If she lights up a cigarette, while I or anyone else is still dining. Gak. If we're someplace where smoking is prohibited, but she attempts to ignore that rule - she's causing a scene and I'm not going to take up for her, I'll just avoid her in the future.
I'm not a big fan of tramp-stamps, although at the beach or 'bar' they are more acceptable to me, than at a tuxedo and gown affair. That said, I wouldn't avoid Angie Jolie if she happened to wink at me.
Using a tooth pick in a public area after a meal? Bad form. Same goes for applying lipstick at the dinner table.
