In reality, this could only occur realistically between previously acquainted individuals. Should this detract from the sex that is taking place? Absolutely not. Just because the scenarios from porn are unlikely to come about in real life (e.g. the friend's hot mom, the sexy babysitter, etc) doesn't mean that the sex that follows can't be recreated to a couple's satisfaction.

Reality is far more exciting and unpredictable than the mainly stale scenarios one sees in mainstream porn. Personally, I'd say that the scenarios are the main thing that I find exaggerated in porn (as hopp3r described so eloquently). But aside from that, I actually find my sexual life a whole lot more dirty, creative and diversified than what's shown in those typical 1-on-1 scenes, which often all look very similar to one another.

Reality does live up to (and surpass) what you see in pornos a lot of the time. Not the way a hookup happens so much but the sex does. I will also say that it is life imitating art. You get two people that have watched a lot of porn and are really into each other together and you're going to have two people having some pretty wild sex. Filming it too.

Porn really is imitating life, but it is through a very narrow lens. When once considers that porn is business trying to profit from sex, it quickly becomes apparent that they will present only what people are willing to pay for. But people do not want to pay to see what they already have at home. People want to see something that is a step beyond what their own partner will agree to.
But as porn video pushes the boundary of what people are willing to do in their own bedroom, the bedroom becomes a imitation of the art. New things are explored, and perhaps partners will pretend to themselves that they really do love the new freedom they have found, but loose focus of why they first wanted to share their bed, and why they choose their partner. Emotion is replaced with sex, and loss of sharing is the result.
Porn videos do not show love, sharing or respect, and that is sad. Although it can be useful to loosen the ropes that society places on us, it should never lead us away from the emotional bond that is found in any happy couple.

I've always wondered why people say that about positions in porn scenes. Most of them are rather simple and feasible to me, except of course for that dreaded piledriver position that you can occasionally witness in some scenes:

Some of the positions, although they look ridiculous, can really promote some great sex.
For example, for the longest time I could never manage to line up everything in a comfortable way for shower sex. Tried this, tried that, nothing worked. To my mind, this another of those "all things are relative" questions. The variables being, what sort of porn are you watching AND what experiences are you having or have you had in life thus far. ALL of the "hook up" scenarios in porn DO have some basis in reality, they simply don't happen often. (So just because someone can say , "Well. I've done that hundreds of times and never..." doesn't ,make the statement untrue but neither does it mean that it NEVER happens either.) AND, as not everyone IS a porn ACTOR not all opportunities are taken advantage of for a whole wide range of reasons. As to the matter of "positions" while some of the ones frequently used in porn aren't the ones most people "commonly use", "MOST PEOPLE" aren't having to make sure that two or three cameramen CAN get "the shot" that the director wants either.

Porn is nothing but an act, bought and paid for. It is a money scam only made with inferior 'actors'. Don't be misled into thinking that its similar to reality. Porn is edited and cut like any other craft. As in 'life' you get what you ask for. My suggestion, is to read a good book and now watch the comics of porn.
