Serious question.
I see the word dominate a lot on this site used as a noun but in the English language it's a verb, a person is a dominator. Is this an Americanism, a Lushism or a BDSMism
it's simply people using the improper form of the word - it SHOULD be dominant (a noun) not dominate (a verb).

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Ah, so it's popular useage.
Do you mean dominator? That and dominatrix are more commonly used in UK, I thought it might be an Americanism. A dominant is a musical note.

I wouldn't say it's an Americanism... We really aren't all stupid. Like how English people really aren't all ugly. It's more of a BDSM tard-ism.
