I have a note in my profile (so if someone actually reads it they will see it) and I have yet to have anyone write it in a friend request, proving they have read and understood my profile. I always read the profiles of the people requesting to me, but I think I have only sent a few myself, yet I have always read what they took the time to write. Sometimes I just click around and read profiles. People are very interesting and have some very interesting things to say.
