Do you believe, in the end, we get what we give?

That IS a popular "punishment"
DEATH...

and some get worse before that comes and maybe AFTER.
Another marvelous MYTH! While it would be great, we have all seen all too many instances when it just isn't the case. But, it WILL sell books and get rave reviews.
I was thinking in a more karmic sense. Like I.m more screwed if it were true. Let us say that I am doing something in which I knew would completely devastate the one I love, so does that mean I am in turn...somewhere down the line, I will have the same done upon me? If so, I can't accept that! Double standard? Maybe. No two person's intentions r the same. My intentions are pure, does that matter? Do intentions reflect in karmic retribution?
I believe if we give with the right spirit that we get the reward right away and we dont have to wait until " in the end". What matters is how we feel inside. If we feel good about ourselves and we like ourselves and we are happy, which generally is how we feel when we give, then we have already received the gift. If we give merely to be seen by others then we receive that reward immediately also. I prefer the happiness and liking myself to the glory heaped upon us by fake giving.
Life would be too easy if it were all tit for tat. How could we appreciate gifts and good deeds if they were just down-payments for a karmic reward? If we believed in a balance, could we live without fear, knowing how often we fail? We're humans, and we fail, all the time. We're not always pure, and sometimes we're petty and unjust like hell.

I like to believe that, in the end, we get a lot more than we deserve. And that we could give much more than we thought possible - no, Felix, not that, you perv! *sighs* Well, perhaps that too. Whatever makes someone happy.

All assuming that there is an end. Is there?
While I agree with what Puppy has had to say; I stick by my original position. It is essentially a falsehood we all KNOW to be false but HOPE is true. It is one of the fables that helps us live together as a society. And, while it is reassuring to believe, we can simply look around us and see by what we observe everyday that it IS a falsehood. Sadly, the posturing types reap the rewards of their posturing because the TRUTH is neither seen nor heard.
Some do. Some don't. But there's no reason we can't.
More often than not, I believe we do. It just seems like some people get away with it. Sometimes Karma moves slowly. As the saying goes Karma's A bitch. Sometimes we refuse to believe this & when it finally comes our way we find ourselves asking what did I ever do to deserve this? Usually all you have to do is look back A little farther. And there it is. Oh yea I forgot about that. Karma didn't. There is A saving grace though, If you feel remorse for something you have done. Change, Try helping others who need it, Be A better person & perhaps Karma will have mercy on you. Perhaps thats what Karma is waiting for. To see if you are willing to make amends or go on hurting others. It's definitely something to consider.

I don't believe there is an end... We keep recycling until we get it right. There is one thing we must learn, and so we keep fucking it up, and learning/gaining more clues to the answer until we figure it out. Then, we rest
