I used to pack a smartphone just for work (email primarily). However, with my current device (Samsung Galaxy S6), I'm using it a lot more for reading news and Twitter, to "cast" to my Chromecast, to listen to music and such. In a pinch, I've done admin work on a forum I help run using it. I also read books on a larger device (an Acer tablet that's a bit on the old side now).
