I'm thankful for my family, great friends, and good health.
I'm thankful for the things I have that so many people do not. A good home, food to eat, friends that care for me and a relative freedom from the malice of others. They seem like such simple things until you go places where the people who live there do so in abject poverty. I can't be thankful enough.
I'm thankful for thousands of years of great literature and poetry, and the papyrus, scrolls, tablets, books, and story-tellers who have brought all this wisdom, knowledge, and beauty down through history for me to enjoy and learn from.
I'm thankful for all the great women through history who have had more courage than I will ever have... Hypatia, Sappho, Mary Magdalene, Sacajawea, Sojourner Truth, Victoria Woodhull, and many many others.
I'm very thankful for my life in general, my great Husband, my friends, our great country, state and neighborhood. I'm thankful for health and happiness, too.
When I was little I was a natorious list keeper of things I wanted to do or places I wanted to go and have. Today the lists are almost none existent because I want for nothing and have more than I even knew to ask for. I'm not talking about just material things, but when it comes to spiritual contentment and love on all levels, I have that. And, I'm so very thankful for this. My cup just runs all over and sometimes it makes a mess. I'm thankful for that too.
I'm thankful for many things. My health ( yeah I know it's kinda cliche, but after the year I had... well lets just say it's at the top of my list ), the love of a wonderful lady, a really good lush friend, oh yeah - my first grand daughter ( well not quite yet, but any day now. Probably right when the bird is almost ready to come out).
Today I'm both thankful and sad at once. The sadness due to circumstance and the thankfulness....also due to circumstance. Which will win out? Thankfulness.....
