Though I reject the premise of this question, I still have an answer, albeit an irritating one. It depends. It's possible to have an intense, electric first kiss the knocks you off your feet, and then discover that was the extent of the chemistry once you get in bed. Certainly not always, but this has been something of a problem for me lately. On the other hand, it's also very possible to have a first kiss which is very 'meh', or just kind of perfunctory because it was on a first date, or some other reason. Maybe that kiss sparks something, or maybe you just push past it because you like the person you're seeing, and then you discover that the sex is amazing. Of course, it can also be that both are great right from the start, and yes, sadly sometimes you push past that bad kiss and discover there's just no chemistry at all, like water on rocks.

It was a metaphor - but if there's a chemist who wants to set me straight on that last bit, I'm fine with that. smile
