There's a few other positions that can handle face to face. Her sitting on his lap comes to mind. But that requires a bit more strength and stamina than mish. Doggie and similar are good for hot sex, but you're not really going to get that connection or those kisses. I would argue that "making love" is probably possible in other positions, but missionary is certainly one of the simplest for it.
