Hello there,

I've been thinking about changing my hairstyle, and I thought a slicked back undercut would fit me well. What do you guys think of this haircut?

Any advice? Thanks.
That'd be a bit hard to do seeing that we don't know what you look like. Not that I'm requesting pics or anything. I'm just saying...these styles look nice on these guys...but I see the shape of their heads and their bone structure. But not every style works on the same guy. So there's really no way to give you an honest assessment.

This would be like me asking what lipstick looks best on me (MAC Creme Cup, by the way) and no one knows what I look like.

"What is the quality of your intent?" - Thurgood Marshall

Personally I think it looks kinda of ridiculous and almost like a groomed beaver tail on the blokes heads.

W/e floats your boat though.

If you wanna try it, go for it.

Like with any new extreme hairstyle though, I'd see a quality men's hairdresser first and get their opinion on whether or not you could pull it off.
I like men to have short dry mussed hair.
Not a lot of positive replies so far... thanks for your honesty nonetheless.

I actually look a bit like the guy in the first picture, if that can help. I have a nice broad forehead, so I'm looking for something that wouldn't hide it anyhow.

Any alternatives to suggest?

These haircuts are a bit fay as pictured... They get away with it because they are fucking soccer players. Superstars of the world. Not judging if that's your thing. The fay look.

That said, I have my hair in a similar fashion but not quite. I have it short but I don't comb it back. Think George Clooney in oh brother where art thou. Its styled but not fay.

Like this but short on the sides so it looks more modern but still old school. Dapper dan man 2013.

BUT if you insist on some of these gayer varieties go with the Ronaldo. Fuck it, go full gay.
Personally I wouldn't want to look like a brain dead overpaid soccer player or even a football player or a tennis player or an ice-hockey player or a ....well you get the picture. How about a Tony Curtis that would be very radical retro and show your fine forehead?
Thanks again for the honest replies. One of my fears was that it could appear a bit too pretentious, which some of you pointed out. I also hesitated before posting the 3rd picture, as this guy looks plain gay in my opinion (though it gives a nice idea of how this haircut looks from the front).

Maybe something similar, but shorter on top?

I'm already kinda fixed for the buzzed sides, as it looks masculine and clean ; it also makes my face appear longer. And I like the top combed back, for the reasons I mentionned.

Right now I have something similar to this (without the messy hair around the crown) :

I like the pics you just posted. A bit of style is a good thing. And let's face it, there's really only so much a guy can do with his hair as it is. It's nice to have options. Plus I assume for a guy - growing it out if you don't like it is going to be a much faster and easier thing than a girl typically has to deal with if she makes a major hairstyle change. Go for it! smile
Those newest hairstyles look better, man. Much more like something I myself would try.

Which one exactly do you prefer? Though they look very similar. I like the second one, but would probably slick them back a bit more. I don't know how to explain this exactly, but my hairline looks totally hot when I pull the hair back where the side meets the top...

I think #2 is most versatile and the nicest cut. #1 is just a slightly more conservative take on it.

I have a friend who does the #3 pic and it looks good sometimes and other times at certain angles, I'm not a fan. I think that one is best reserved for after you have the #2 cut and then can see if you like it enough to want to take it to the next level.

Thanks! Coming from a fashion freak, those advices mean a lot.

As I stated, I currently wear #3 without the messy crown, and althought it looks neat and clean, it's a bit meh and military looking. The guy looks hot in the photo mainly because of the wet look. Being a model also helps.

I've sported something similar to #1 a few years ago, with hair parted both sides symmetrically, and I kinda miss the classy look of it.

What I'm really looking for is something that can appear both classy and casual/athletic, depending on what I'm wearing. I usually work in an office (when I actually have a job/contract), so looking at least a bit formal is important to me.

I'll probably create my very personnal mixture of #1 and #2. I cut my own hair by the way, and I've received better comments than when done at a hairstylist.

Go figure.
Oh, one more thing...

What's your take on hair products? I have thick and dense hair, so I really have to rely on at least a bit of it to shape my hairstyle...

I don't mind hair products - most guys use them. I'll say that I do like the kind of hair products that still leave the hair somewhat touchable or soft, but as long as it's not overly crunchy or sticky, it's fine.
