What may work, may I suggest, is Christmas music in the form of videos. People can play those as background music and still chat if they wish. Virtual mince pies and pigs in blankets are yummy as is virtual alcohol. smile

If by Christmas music you mean actual Christmas music I am all for it. I am not a Christian but I dislike the pablum which is served these days as everyone tries to outdo each other in not offending anybody. Frosty and Rudolph et al are fine and deserve their place in the mix, but I miss the carols and hymns we used to hear. It's Christmas.

I'm off before I start actually ranting.

I have been thinking, I know, E and thinking do not mix Anyhoo, members and Christmas have been on my mind a lot. Just a thought, could we create/open a Semi Colon room for Christmas day only. Have it open all day or a couple of hours, make it private, members interested can obtain password from someone. A safe room, you can visit and sit, no need to talk, members can share whatever they want from their day, post their gifts/feast/day That was my silly thought, I shall leave it out there. I can’t believe that you have such a fantastic thread. I’ve read back several pages and the comradeship that you share is amazing. I have PTSD from an incident about six years ago that I haven’t been able to share as of yet. Only a few people where I work even know about it. I asked for anonymity from the my employer but insisted that an alert be put out for all to know about. Maybe if I think long and hard I’ll find the courage to tell my tale. For now it sits in my mind and heart like a cancer slowly eating me away. Thank you all for the stories and kindness that you share here on this thread. Have a beautiful day ?

I stumbled in here by accident one day and now they can't get rid of me. I help when I can, and occasionally I blurt out little bits of what bothers me. There is always a friendly ear or a shoulder to cry on. (Even the men are wonderful, but please don't tell them I said so. I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for the fantastic welcome here. Yesterday was a special day for my son and I. It was the tenth anniversary of my husbands death. My son was seven at the time so his memories are blurred a bit. We spent the day together having breakfast at my husbands favorite place. Went to the cemetery to visit and then headed over to my husbands workplace to talk to his coworkers and friends. Since my son stated that he could no longer remember his dad’s voice I took the opportunity to drag out the old home videos to view! Sharing them with him was very bittersweet! I was so thrilled when he’d say “I remember that or this”. It was an extremely emotional time to share with him but it brought us closer together. It’s been rough raising a child by myself but last night I suddenly realized that I’ve done a really great job! He’s a freshman at Duke University and a straight A student! He’s never (knock on wood) caused me any grief, anxiety or extra worry outside of the usual issues raising a child. I think my husband would be proud because his son will still be involved in law enforcement but as a lawyer not a State Trooper. So I love you forever Michael, this ones for you♥️?

I know what it is to lose a husband. I lost my first when I was 18 and he was 30. His parents were as wonderful as he was, and raised my son and stepchildren (extremely well, I talk to them occasionally.) Video cameras then were huge, so I only have my memories, but they are good ones. The memories of my first husband often help me deal with some of my less pleasant memories. I hope Michael helps you with yours.

Sounds like a wonderful bonding experience. I can only imagine the flood of emotions going through your brain all day. I’m glad that there were some good ones also.
