I think a gaydar exists. I can kind of tell before being told outright if a guy is gay or not...even if all outward appearances don't make it obvious.

Sometimes I can even tell when a guy is closeted gay or bicurious, even if he himself hasn't realized it...or is in denial of it. Of course I keep this stuff to myself, but it's not hard to pick up on.'

As far as females go, I'm better at figuring out if they're gay or not online than I am in person.

It might be slightly easier for us, girls, to pick up on this. Ive always felt it was in the eyes. The average hetero guy glances at my boobs fairly quickly in a conversation(even pleasant ones trying hard not to, and this doesnt matter if the guy is into me or not, they still glance at the boobs. The ones who are interested in men, dont.

As for females? yea much better online at that.

Shhh! The secret'll get out that we prefer abs and pecs to boobs.
My gaydar has never worked properly or wasn't ever quite tuned in correctly.

Almost once a year between the ages of 19 and 40 - for me, I got hit on by some guy. When I was in my twenties, it happened much more frequently... sometimes once a month. And it didn't really matter where I was, as I wasn't especially hanging out in places that were known gay bars or .

I wrote songs when I was 18-21 in college with a guy who was tormented with coming out of the closet but he finally did around the age of 25 after he'd graduated and moved out of redneckville bible thumperland to the West Coast.

I'm not exactly what you'd call naive...or maybe I was in my teens & early 20s.

Politely turning down advances from men to me - kind of helped me understand when women would reject my advances to them, in public, later on as well.

Unless I see a coupla men making out or holding hands somewhere, I'm pretty much clueless...But then again, I'm generally not trying to determine who or where the available gay men are.

I'm checking out fine female asses too much of the time to give a damn about anything else.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.

...............were you on the skin flute? In the band I mean.
Yeah, it exists.

I think we all have instincts that ring a little bell in our heads. You pick up on signals. Some of these are harder to read than others, but yeah, they're there.

We're discussing gaydar, Jack... not your homophobia... Try to keep up.

You talking about homophobia or homosexuality in general is about as genuine as Dick Cheney talking about world peace.
I don't think there is such thing. But I do believe that some people are just too obvious.....
Yes - yet I seem to fall for them anyway...nothing like an emotionally unavailable guy smile

I wish there was a very subtle way to pick up on a persons interest in same sex encounters. For me I just keep my eyes open for what the person is wearing, possible tagged clothing that gives away their interest or enhanced bulges, commando etc and of course eye contact etc. Bottom line is that I'm not about to get with someone I don't know, but it certainly turns me on knowing they might be interested.

huh? *giggles, twirls my hair around my finger, blows a bubble* what's a stereotype? can you play cds on it?

Whatever you “style” on any given day…well you know…

I guess rather than start a new thread, people search to see whether anyone has already posted about the topic and then tag onto that. I don't know which is better or worse, actually - thread resurrection, or starting an entirely new thread. Maybe the search results should cut off after a certain amount of time since the last post? Or the threads should be available but only as read-only?

Who cares how old a thread is? All posts were on topic, until the thread's age was mentioned.

As for gaydar, I do think there are often signs that one may pick up on. Sometimes very obvious/stereotypical, sometimes very subtle. I wonder if one's gaydar tends to work cross culture? And does it work equally well on bisexuals?

When I came out, quite late, as bi, my brother and his husband were really surprised I had kept under their gaydar for so long.
