Ellipsis formatting

I've been having problems formatting ellipsis correctly. The last correction seemed to say the Lush convention is no space on the leading part bur a space on the following part. i have a couple of stories I'm holding until I'm sure i know what is approved. looking at various non-Lush sources I see recommendations from no spaces to spaces fore and aft. I just want to reduce my contribution to the moderator's workload as much as possible.

I generally use them in place of other punctuation, so if my speech was trailing off...

That's how it would look. But consistency is the main thing, thanks.
