Whenever I open a forum or group post with an embedded video, if I click the post, it starts playing in the post. But then the video screen opens and starts playing the media too. Is there some way to stop the video player from opening automatically? The 2 versions of the same media are always slightly off from each other, which causes distortion if there is sound.

Can I have an example, or two, please... the forum/group link and the relevant posts. Thanks,

It might be a browser setting, if you have media set to default open in a particular application.

Thanks Jen. I use DuckDuckGo on a Mac. The only possible setting has to do with opening new tabs as opposed to new windows. I’ve unchecked the box and now I’ll see if that solves the issue.

Are you using the DuckDuckGo browser or just the website? Not meaning to offend but less than tech savvy folks can confuse the two

I use the DDG browser. I don’t mind the video player opening up but the media runs in both the post and the media player simultaneously. And the sound is always a hair off between the two so it’s like there is an echo. I’ve tried the few things I know how to do in DDG to try to prevent the media player from opening but nothing I’ve tried works. If you’ve got any suggestions I’m willing to try them out. Thanks.

Not sure I know what the hell they are talking about

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The Duck Player was set to open all media in the Player. I unchecked it.

Bummer, just tested it and it still opens a media window and runs the media off the post too. I’ll have to try rebooting the Mac and see if that helps.
