Friend apparently deleted in error

It seems to me that I have somehow deleted a friend off my profile page in error, although I have no idea how.

I am still listed on their page as a friend so it does not look like it has happened from their end.

How do I re-instate them please?

I have messaged them just in case something has happened from their end.

Further to the above the account in question now seems to have disappeared in as much as I get an error message if I click on it.

That would explain them disappearing off my friend list but not the fact that I was able to view their account at the time that I sent the above.

I also received a PM from them three hours ago.

If they've deleted their account, it can take up to 24 hours for the site cache to catch up.

So remnants of their profile, stories etc., take a little while to be purged from the system.

With the site serving 2.5 million pageviews each month, it's not possible for the site to be absolutely "live" across the whole setup. Some areas are cached for better performance.

Thank you, I understand that.

Initially I thought that I had inadvertently removed them, hence my first message because I could still then see that I was a friend on their page.

I later got the 'error' message when I clicked on their account via the PM that they had sent me.

Now the account no longer exists so seemingly they have deleted it.

Thank you but luckily she was not my only friend and in fact, we had not actually met although we seemed to be on the point of doing so.
