inquiring minds, and all that.

I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the next one, whatever it is. They're always fun. I don't care about the prizes, but the chances of your story being read more than three or four times increase significantly.

Theres one roughly one every three to four months. I think (and hope!) one is due fairly soon.

Yes, this is about the frequency. We're slacking at the moment. Hopefully there'll be one slinking along soon.

Over one million views on my stories can't be wrong, so please dive in and browse my 154 stories:

* 33 Editor's Picks, 85 Recommended Reads.
* 17 competition podium places, 12 other times in the top ten.
* 26 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

The next competition is actually on hold pending a legal wrangling between myself and the competition judges. I should have won 1st prize and I did not. My parrot assures me we will win the case and that will be shortly.

I wonder if they are open to competition suggestions. Mine would be: Every story starts with the same line like, "It was a dark and stormy night" or something to that effect and go from there. Or start a competition where only one category is used.

I am sure that would be just fine. However, better would be 'The lager was cold and the peanuts were nicely salted and crunchy and she paid for them'.

Fairy tales start "Once upon a time. Navy stories start. This is no shit." That said, I imagine Spring or summer or school's out. I realise this is a worldwide community, but America's 250th would be interesting.

We've done that as a challenge on StoriesSpace but never seen it as a comp. I could go for it. For this site, I think you would need something spicy. So use John's but make them sriracha peanuts. 😜

A dark and stormy night? Hell, I have that story written. Bring it

There's a thread for competition ideas somewhere but it might be on one of the moderators only ones, I'm not sure.
