How To Quote More Than One Post

I'm sure I've covered this one before but I can't remember where and someone just asked me about it.

To quote more than one person in a single post, you need to add the subsequent quote/s to your post manually. So, a normal quote might look something like this when you hit the quote button:

[code]
Quote by Sprite
Should my legs be this hairy?
[/code]

If you want to quote additional people as well, simply copy/paste their post into yours, highlight the text, then hit the 'quote' icon in the toolbar which looks like this:

This will encapsulate the text in quotation tags.

[code]
Wow, those are hairier than mine!
[/code]

Note, however, that it doesn't say 'quote=' then the username of the person you are quoting. You'll have to remember to edit the first bit of the quote tag to include this so just add in the equals sign and then their username:

[code]
Quote by Buz
Wow, those are hairier than mine!
[/code]

So, my post would now look like this:

[code]
Quote by Sprite
Should my legs be this hairy?

Quote by Buz
Wow, those are hairier than mine!
[/code]

And if I hit post, both Sprite and Buz will wonder what the hell is going on when they look at their timelimes.

Quote by Sprite
Should my legs be this hairy?

Quote by Buz
Wow, those are hairier than mine!

There are no limits to the number of quotation sections you can include in your post, which is especially helpful if you want to break down someone's huge forum essay into sections and address each bit separately.

An alternative approach which some people prefer is to open up the same forum thread on two separate browser tabs, hit the quote button on the first post on tab one, hit the quote button on the second post on tab two, then just copy the contents of the post window from tab two to tab one.

Hope this answer wasn't too convoluted. If you have any questions please post them below.

Thank you

Don't forget to sat 'Hi'

Any chance we'll ever get proper multiquote on here? Xenforo and vBulletin, the board software used on most of my other boards, have both offered it for years. Gav? Nic?
Thank you. I have always wondered how to this. Cheers Liz ??
