Messaging scams

Since I've returned, I've been contacted by more than a couple memebers, usually new ones, who try hitting me up for money or the most recent, lush coins. Is this common these days?

I had one who wanted a gift card, out of the damn blue and today one was asking for coins within seconds

I'm not interested in cyber chat and I am too old to be sweet-talked out of money

This never used to happen so I just wanted to know if this is as pandemic as it feels here

My experience is slightly different, but this has happened a number of times over the past month or two. I get a like on my profile from a new account with a username like angelakhanatgeemale, using the same recycled About info, encouraging me to start a conversation off Lush. I report it and the account gets deleted without anyone asking me for anything.

Update: During the couple of minutes I spent crafting my response, kindmoanaatgeemale liked my profile. 😅

yeah, a few of them have asked me to talk to them off-line as well and it’s kind of strange why they would do that

I’m not sure any of these people were actually scammers, but when somebody comes up to talk to me and within a couple of statements back-and-forth or asking me for money, that’s a sure way to get blocked

I figure they're just using the Lush platform to trawl for older (rich? lonely? gullible?) men and are waiting to start trying to scam me once we take the conversation off Lush.

I think you’re right. I’m just blocking them out right I just wanted to know if anybody else has seen this happen

Sadly we do get targeted by scammers and spammers. We do what we can to try and stop them signing up to the site but alas some get through. Once active we rely heavily on members reporting them and then we can investigate and take the appropriate action.

Can I just ask please that if you do report a scammer or spammer, provide some evidence if you can, e.g. the content of a PM, a chat room message etc.
