Where did you see that you had a comment on the story?
I wonder if someone posted one and then deleted it (or got deleted, e.g. a spammer who got caught). But then there must be a bug such that the number of comments doesn't update in that scenario. Because yeah, it shows one comment and if you click the "1" it does take you down to the comments area, which is empty.

This is likely what happened, where it's a comment left by someone who's since been banned.

Yeah, I manage an IT department (27 years in IT plus a few years before basically doing IT in a public library in my life as a librarian) and am project managing one last big development project before I retire so I am pretty sensitive to little buggy stuff, too.

I have had this happen a few times when spammers got booted. It took a while for the number to reset.
