Upgrade Failed

I attempted to upgrade to a Gold membership using a Visa gift card. Due to privacy issues I do not want to use personal cc. I was told because I am in the US this is not allowed. Please confirm

Gift/Pre-paid cards can be hit and miss because over the years many transactions using them have been fraudulent and so many of the online payment providers reject payments using them. I can only suggest you try but do not be surprised if the payment fails. The payee will be 'Stories Space'.

Alternatively, you can ask someone to buy the subscription for you, and pay them back using your gift card or alternative payment methods. It worked for someone from that related thread.

For further assistance, you can create a support ticket.

With all the scamming and fraud going on, I agree that I should try to protect my credit card when making online purchases. Why would you not allow Google Pay or PayPal? One other thing: why would you charge the full price of a gold or Platinum level, when a member has already paid a price for a lower level? Would it not be fair to give a discounted price?

We offer subscriptions for silver and gold and you can chose the duration of those and whether they are one-off payments or recurring. In both cases, either when a one-off subscription expires, or you cancel your recurring subscription and that then expires, you have choices again including the platinum which is a one-off payment for the lifetime of the account.
