Why am I not notified about new stories from authors I follow?

I receive a lot of notifications each day, most from people I don't know (not friends or follows). However I never get notifications about new stories from authors I've been following for a long time. What do I need to do to be sure to get notifications about stories from authors I follow.

IIRC, that's still on the "to do" list for the new tech team but one of the mods should be able to confirm.

The notifications for authors you follow having published is glitchy AF just now. It works sometimes, it doesn't work others. I follow a ton of authors here, but I've only had notice of one story being published. It is being worked on, I imagine this fix will come with the redesign of the Mail and IM system. No big changes or updates are planned before the new year, so expect to wait until after the holidays.

What you can try in the meanwhile is unfollowing and then refollowing those authors. I did it and found I'm getting more notifications for their published stories now.

That said, it's no guarantee it will resolve everything. It works for some and not for others, but it's worth giving it a shot.

Thanks for the suggestion Harley. But I already tried that on my own and it had no impact. I guess I'll just have to wait until after the new year and hope this gets fixed. I hate having to search each author to see if they've published something new. Just time consuming and it worked so beautifully in the old version (along with a lot of other things).
