Realize and realise are both correct as is neighbor and neighbour. There are differences in the spelling of several words in English. Many American accepted spellings are different from the UK so it's just getting used to the differences and accepting them. There are many older English words that are spelled differently than the more modern versions but in literature both are acceptable.

I am still learning many of the differences and actually find them fascinating rather than letting it bother me. So I hope y'all join me in accepting the differences as a new learning experience. Yes I did say, y'all.
