I just watched "Disobedience."

It's very good.

Best sex scene I've ever seen in a movie.

Wow. 10 mins and you made that judgement...

I'm surprised you didn't include the word "sad" in your description.

Especially since the first ten minutes is one of the most emotionally powered beginning of any movie in recent history.

The movie is damn good, and the beginning is spectacular.

Yes, after the garage scene of the kid getting home from school, I lost interest.

Good to know you enjoyed it.
I recently saw these on Netflix.

1. Berlin Syndrome
2. Calibre
3. Just Friends
4. TAU
5. The Open House
6. The Ritual
7. 1922

New adaption of Fahrenheit 451... meh. Not bad but not good.

Dunkirk. Technically good, it’s an achievement. Not sure I could sit through it ever again though.

Ant-Man and the Wasp. It was fun, I liked it. Worth a matinee. Evangeline Lilly still looking fine as hell.

Are you allowed to comment on Dunkirk? You're not British. How dare you criticize a British movie about a British moment in history!

And if you do, you better not watch Benedict Cumberbatch in Avengers:Infinity War.

Fucking idiot.

Aww someone's feathers are ruffled. lol

There was a Warner Brothers logo before Dunkirk started... Christopher Nolan holds American citizenship... His biggest influences are American directors... He lives in California... Most of his movies are about Americans... Pretty much all of his movies are produced and distributed by American companies. What are you going to say next that The Last Samurai is a Japanese movie?

Plus I commented on the movie. I didn't comment on British culture because I watched a "British" movie. I didn't say British pilots are super cool just like in Dunkirk. That's what you do, genius.

I guess you'll have to post a list of rules so all of us ignorant non-Americans know how to stay in our place.

The saying is "stay in our lane" or "stay in your lane". Not place. That makes you sound like an ESL person.

Thank you. I'm aware of the saying. I wasn't using it. You're grasping at straws now and you're looking pretty damn pathetic.

This kind of petty shit makes you appear even more intellectually limited than you already are. I'll be sure to let you know the next time I'm looking for a short, fat, high school graduate to give me a linguistics lesson.

I was obviously joking... Do you think I said that as a serious "gotcha"? I think you're projecting what you feel when you post onto me. Grasping at straws? Really? I said I wouldn't watch Dunkirk again and you attacked me.. Haha this can't be serious. I mean really, you aren't being serious right?

And hey, I'm 5'10'' That's not bad for a Mexican.
Gold. I'm laughing at the above chat. Thank you.

Eve Lily is one of my favorites. Been crushing on her since her run with Lost. She was a major reason I stuck with the meandering plot the last season and change. Fun sized package of badass in AntMan. Which I’ll say is worth the price of an evening showing. But, surprisingly, those two entries are among my favorites in the MCU.

Sicario: brutally intense and grim. Not a fun watch but definitely something everyone should try.

Day of the Soldado: you can really feel the loss of Blunt and Villenueve. Del Toro is a Force, but it’s just lacking. Still an intense watch, just less so.

Hotel Artemis: funny how Foster criticizes the MCU and comic
Movies and stars in one of the most emotionally dead and felt out terrible films of the year. I was itching for it to end about a million times.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor: Grew up with Mister Rogers as I’m sure many kids did. Powerful documentary of a singularly kind to the bone man. Wish we had a billion more like him at all stages of power in the world.

Fallen Kingdom: no annoying kids. Best opening sequence since the first movie but just.. not as interesting anymore. Wish these movies had better writing.
Na na na na na na na na ANT-MAN!

Saw Ocean's 8, which was... okay. .

Cate Blanchette is in it. it could suck and i'd still go.

That is valid. I enjoyed it pretty thoroughly. I was just disappointed that I didn't like it more than the testosterone fest that is Ocean's Eleven. Also I thought Helena Bonham Carter's performance fell really hard on its face, which was a bummer, since I often really like her.

Cate Blanchett was pretty great, though, as expected.

Saw Fahrenheit 451 on HBO when it was released. Agree with MF. Not sure I agree with the producers adaptations. Part of it was that I do not like Michael B. Jordan. I know. I was already boo'd by my friendly neighborhood barista. I did not like Black Panther or his character in it either. I hope that's not a sign of things for me. However, I'm still a fan of Michael Shannon. Loved him in the series, Boardwalk Empire.

I really, REALLY wanted to LOVE, The Death of Stalin, but I only liked it. I was expecting a different type of comedy. Yes, there were many humorous moments. I think Stalin himself would have enjoyed the movie. As much as I like Steve Buscemi, and I did like him in this movie, it was the same snarky, sarcastic character he's played in umpteen movies, including Boardwalk Empire. Sigh. At times, I could envision that damn wolf talking from Hotel Transylvania. Not good. Plus, I really disliked Jeffery Tambor's acting and character. I loved him in Transparent, but this did not work for me.

Since I've lost all interest in anything Marvel or Superhero, Star Wars, and Jurassic, I'm looking forward to something creative and engaging. Re-watched Atomic Blonde once or twice I really, really like that stupid movie. It's become another Jaws or American Graffiti or Tron Legacy or Amelie or Miami Vice for me. Press play, sign along, and veg. Yup. I hum along with the tuba when Bruce the shark visits the patrons of Amity. Very sad for me.

Except for Sicario - Day of the Soldado, which I still have not yet seen, nothing has interested me enough to visit a theatre. Not even The Incredibles 2.

I really like the Miami vice movie too. To me micheal Mann is right up there with Kubrick, scorcese, Melville, fincher, Nolan, imamura, Anderson, and aronofsky. These are directors that can elevate the subject matter in front of them. They make masterpieces out of sludge.

If you’re into micheal Mann, check out “theif” if you haven’t seen it already. It’s where he really developed his style.

I just looked at the trailer. I don't think I've seen Thief. Now I need to. Yes, I see his stylish stamp on it. Also, Caan's mannerisms are familiar to other characters in other projects. Before I looked at the trailer, I was going to mention Crime Story. It followed Miami Vice on NBC during the mid-'80's. I loved that show too. Mobsters. Cop from Chicago follows bad guys to Sin City. Del Shannon's, Runaway, is one of my favorite songs. Mann used it as the theme song for the show. Miami Vice the show and Miami Vice the movie are quite different, but that amazing feel Mann creates was wonderfully updated for the movie. Good Stuff. I was going to mention Denis Farina, Anthony Denision, and John Santucci from Crime Story. Then, I saw that two of the actors are in Thief, which pre-dated the TV show by five years. Nice. And then saw that William Peterson of CSI, and back then, To Live And Die In LA, is too. Thanks for the recommendation!
I saw these on Netflix.

1. Deceived
2. Lavender
3. Small Crimes
4. The Outsider
5. The Daughter
6. Thor: Ragnarok

Well, well, well. I did not expect such a wonderfully suspenseful movie from the Office guy. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It creates tension from the opening scene and carries it through to the end. This is a well-crafted, well-directed flick. With so little dialogue, Jim from the Office, had to tell the story with visual images and, dare I say it, acting. This movie reminded me of the discussions Alfred Hitchcock and Francois Truffaut had about using camera angles to create tension. John Krasinski reveals what is happening to the audience before the characters know. Dastardly stuff, and I love it.

As soon as I saw Emily Blunt and heard a short blast of Sicario-type music, I was hooked. I do have three nitpicks, but I won't say what they are. One is a parenting decision that occurs early on in the show. It could have been written better. Another has to do with energy, but I can suspend that reality issue. Lastly, that fucking nail. Really??? That's not how treads work. But it was a great tool for more tension building.

The characters are smart. Creative. Adaptive. They need to be. This movie is really about a family and parents protecting their children. They could make a prequel, and sequel, if they chose to make them.

If you like tension-filled thrillers, give this one a chance. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
IT. Yes, the clown is scary but it's the bullies that really got me going. I hate bullies.
How It Ends on Netflix. I really liked it, although there were a few frustrating things about it. One I can't share because it's a spoiler. The other thing seems to be a running theme with Netflix originals.

They tend to give limited detail. Just enough that you are enjoying it and it's not very distracting, but there are a lot of "you understood" moments. Don't get me wrong they don't always take away from the show/movie, but sometimes I want to see more of that moment and it feels like they miss the chance to make it more.

I have a new story out! Wish You Were Here A teasing sub may I have pushed too far, but the punishment is oh so sweet.

Latest movie was Antman and The Wasp.
I want to see A Quiet Place, I've been told it’s really good.

God, I loved Crime Story. Didn't last long but the style, the story, and Dennis Farina all combined to make it a marvel. Better than Vice by far and that's saying a lot because when Miami Vice was on its game, it was damn good television.
Thinking about seeing Skyscraper but has mixed reviews.
Love is the answer, love is a flower you gotta let it grow - John Lennon
Ant-Man and the Wasp. Toddler-sized Paul Rudd was definitely the highlight of the movie for me.

Fallen Kingdom was a hot mess, but I still thought it was entertaining.

A Quiet Place was very, very good, but it might lose some of its impact watching at home. I'm so glad I saw it in the theater. Everyone was super quiet and then when the movie got loud they would start frantically munching their food.

I really want to see Eighth Grade, Sicario 2, and Sorry to Bother You.
