I am in the NYC area, we live to sniff out "Open Bar" parties. How else do you think we can afford to live here. The booze has to be free...smile I love arriving at a club with a long waiting list and say I'm <enter any name you see further down the reservations list with a *>. Most service people at the desk don't know the person on sight. Now you are in and you look for the big spender flashing a wad "buying" the round. Pick a "hanger-on" who is weak and make them your best friend from wherever you might have met. Not a school or anything like that but another well known bar or this one a week ago or so. They won't admit to not knowing you because you are making a great fuss over them and you are on a roll...:)

Try it out. But you need 'Tude to make it work. 'Tude at the door. 'Tude with the hanger-on. The hanger-on will never admit to not knowing you, because they will look bad. But 'Tude is everything. No direct approach like in the movies. Use "The Weakest Link".
