Ruling on Avatars - softcore only please

There's a bit of confusion around as to what's acceptable here in terms of avatars, profiles etc. Please read this thread.

In a nutshell:

Avatars - softcore only please. We don't want people who stumble across the site not realising it's adult, to be confronted with hardcore images.

Profile area - anything goes, as long as it's not illegal. You are responsible for images you post, not Lushstories.com. Copyright etc issues will be directed to you personally, not us. Profiles containing hardcore images will in future, be flagged as such, and will be protected by a warning splash page, and not viewable by surfers.

Hi Nicola,

Newbie here, although an experienced (non-fiction) writer. I've just signed up on a trial membership, but suspect I'll upgrade soon.

Meanwhile, while I'm comfortable as a writer, I have no talent as an artist. (Whether I have any talent as a writer – well, you'll have to judge that for yourself.)

I notice that lots of stories have sexy photos or illustrations, as do some avatars. I have zero (0) sexy photos of my own, and doubt whether any pics of me would be sexy, so am unsure how to proceed. I'm relatively new to erotica, although I have a deeply dirty mind.

Do you, or anyone else, have any advice for a newbie on how to source such pics / illustrations? Are there resources on the site for this that you could point me towards?

One of the things that attracted me to lush was the welcoming behaviour in the Forum, so thank you in advance!

Hi James, welcome to Lush. If you're looking for a quick avatar, Lush does have options you can choose from. If you hover over your profile picture in the red toolbar, a menu will dropdown. Click 'settings' and another smaller menu will appear. Click 'more options' and it will take you to a page where you can customize your Lush experience, profile page, etc. If you click on the option that says change avatar, you will then go to a page where you can upload images to your gallery, but underneath that is a link to view pre-existing avatars that Lush has. From there you can choose one you like, or search google images or something and find one that suits.
