You probably could. There are many members that don't write but are well known due to other things they do on the site. Being a woman gives you an edge also.

Writing definitely helps, but when I used to be a regular in the chat rooms I did notice my profile page hits went up.

I think for me it's mostly been thru writing. I've been here a few months shy of 7 years and need something over 8,000 profile views still to become "Famous", but I have written 90 stories. Not coincidentally, my views went up very quickly when I used risque female avatars a few times. Never thought of that, just used them because I liked the pics, but there you go.
Got a few friend request from guys I didn't know who had obvioulsy not bothered to actually read my profile, which clearly says that I'm male and straight. Some guys like pictures better than words, maybe?
