I wasn't intending to submit anything to the current competition. But then I went and got my dusty copy of the Eddas off my shelf, and felt inspired to try my hand at some alliterative Norse-style verse. The result is here:

If you like Norse epics, Teutonic sagas, Wagnerian operas, or Marvel movies (!) - or even if you have a secret abiding affection for eternal love (tell it not in Gath!) - you may enjoy it...
