Great. Give me a reason to actually consider entering.🙄 Not that I'm going to crack the top ten in this one. BDSM is so far outside my experience, I can't really see me coming up with a winner here. But maybe I'll give it a try assuming I can overcome the general malaise that's been afflicting me of late. Took me all morning just to psych up for a 1200 word rewrite of the opening for a story I am working on (not even a Lush story, let alone for this comp).

talked about this in the past. thought it opened up too many problems to properly implemets. for example, i'll collaborate with anyone who pays me 100 coins. and the more collaborations, the better my odds of winning. i could take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

As for venal motivation – why introduce coins in the first place if not for venal purposes? Suppose I offered you 100 coins to write a story that I published under my name in the current comp? Would that be so much different?

I think sprite has a good point. How do you keep it from turning into a bidding war, giving an advantage to folks with loads of coins? I have given all mine away and haven't received more and I am happy that way. So I would have to hope that I am one of the ones receiving bids.😁

Well, Scott, BDSM may not be your thing, but you have two things going for you – a sick, perverted imagination, and an outstanding ability to paint believable characters in your stories.

Maybe we should have a thread where authors could openly offer their services for collaboration. Kind of an author's auction.

Is it the preference of admin and mods that any story of the supernatural be published in that category? Or may I publish my comp entry with a supernatural core, but containing the comp-required BDSM elements in the BDSM category?

I know of no rule that supernatural content has to go in Supernatural. The only category with a rule like that is Incest Fantasies. You'll want to tag it "supernatural" (or other relevant tags like "ghost story" or whatever) if you don't, though.

I don't see much of an issue with solicitation for coins. Just 'cos you've got coin to splash around doesn't necessarily mean you're a better writer or you're someone people want to partner with. Some of the authors here are better than E. L. James and she's got loads of money to splash around 'cos she's popular, not good.

Lush coins were introduced primarily for the purpose of sharing the love of writing, so if they're used for contractual collabs, so be it. Healthy competition is good.

If this were to go ahead, we would be very strict on one entry per author, regardless if they were collaborator or main author. Our back end systems need to play catch up before that, though, because we wouldn't necessarily know who the 'other' person was until we got to the end of the story. We could really do with an indicator that someone has already entered.

I asked about adding collab authors at the head of the story a while ago and it's on the development list, as far as I know.

Wot Seeker4 says. You choose the category based on what you think is the dominant story theme, and use tags for the other elements. The goal is for people to find content they want by browsing categories and tags, so we're cool with whatever you select, outside of IF, as long as it broadly fits the story theme.

You just gave yourself the PRIMARY reason to enter. It's outside of your comfort zone and experience; it's the perfect challenge to increase your skills, have fun doing it, and stretch your boundaries.

I finally have a non-Lush story moving forward that I have been hacking away at for weeks and I am not inclined to sideline it right now. If something comes to me, I'll take it but I'm not making an effort.

As I understand the terms of the competition, Peaches, you can place your story in ANY category as long as you also add a "BDSM" tag. So, if I'm right, you can absolutely categorize it as Supernatural with a BDSM tag.

Some fabulous stories so far, and still weeks to go till the deadline. Get your imaginations whirring and send in your best, hottest, filthiest BDSM fantasies.

Hope mine gets approved. Would love to hear what you think of it once the mods have checked it for my, probably dozens of, mistakes despite my endless passes at it.

I've almost caught up with all the entries. And what a filthy, depraved bunch you are! In the best possible way, of course.
