Congratulations to all and I am thrilled to have even received a mention. I prefer stories but have found the poetry expresses emotions and comes from the soul.
Congrats to the winners and the special mentions alike. Great job!

Thanks for sharing your talents with our community. heart
Congratulations, avrgblkgrl, Possibly and shrpsf. Well deserved and earned victories. All three poems were brilliant.
Congratulations also to the runners up and everyone who entered this competition.
There were some spectacular entries, and every poem was a pleasure to read.
CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners!!

...and to everyone who had the guts to submit an entry after reading 'I Hate You'. I think most all of us knew, as soon as we read Reggie's poem, that her entry would be unbeatable! Such a gifted gal!

...but to those who have taken the results of the judging as discouragement, all of life is a competition, because ultimately, you are competing against yourself, to improve, to grow, and to learn. Withdrawing is surrendering to your own fears of inadequacy, and that is the death of your soul. Everyone who competes is a winner. Giving up is the only losing strategy.
Congratulations Reggie! I really had no doubt you'd win as soon as I first read 'I Hate You'.

Congratulations to the runners up and the honorable mentions.
A huge congrats to Regina, Tamar, and really just everyone who entered! It's a real privilege to be writing alongside all of you.

Emily xx

(For the record, avrgblkgrl poems were one of the catalysts for me to start writing my own - just to put into perspective how big of an honour this is.)
Congratulations to all the winners and those that took part.
Absolutely wonderful entires and glad I didn't have to make the selections. Congratulations to all who entered.
Congratulations to the top three, the honorable mentions and to everyone else who entered. The top three were examples of some of the best writing I have seen on Lush, regardless of category. We are blessed to be able to read works such as these on a daily basis. It is an honor to be associated with all of you and call ourselves "authors".

Emily, you are going to make me lose my cool, calm and collected personae. I work so hard on it too. That sincerely touches me. That's the highest compliment. Wow.

Congratulations to the winners and runners up.
I have taken the results of this competition as an indication that my belief that I could write reasonable poetry as a delusion, so I have removed all my poems from public view. I am not sure whether this is because they are technically flawed, or because they are just rubbish. I will publish mo more here.

Oh don't say that!! Your poems are excellent!!

You know, I've only been placed/mentioned in a comp once, but i do still enter them (though not for a while - I've not written anything for a while...)

I'm so pleased to see AvgBlkgrl win - I loved that one very much!! I managed to read quite a lot of the comp entries this time and I'm pleased to say that MOST of my favourites got a mention!!

Really well done guys! Congrats to everyone who placed and those who took part. I really enjoyed reading them!!

(next comp though, I don't think I should read ANY before I post my entry... it puts me off)
Congrats to all the winners and honorable mentions....there was some really exceptional work submitted. Be it a poem or story our personal preferences may vary but the quality of work pretty much blew me away. I knew damn well my entry wasn't going to beat out the poems mentioned but it was a blast writing and submitting it. And I got a shiny new badge too!!

Now go write something...I bet you can.

I will, soon I hope!!

I just went back to check... I really really liked your comp poem smile

Well, I don't know shit about poetry really. I just got a general idea and went from there. No one is perfect, but lets face it, some writers here are really good and it'll be next to impossible to catch them. (Hence why there are a few repeat comp winners and runners up.) I've heard time and time again not to give up or get discouraged.

This was the seventh comp I've entered and I still haven't even gotten a honorable mention. I suggested to Nicola that we do a Office Sex comp a while back, I got a good idea for that. Maybe we'll get one. Anyway, any comp that I can attempt, I'll do it. Obviously, there isn't anything actually wrong with your poetry, considering they still got approved to the site.

Delphi has told me I should be happy with my numbers, even though I don't have any RRs. I won't say either one of us is completely wrong or right there, but she is a wise woman. Even though stories I truly believe should get one, have been passed over for them, I haven't stopped writing.

I guess that is a lot of words for 'Try, try again and don't let anyone or anything get you down.'
I look forward to the competitions; took me a long while here to even think I could write anything good enough because there are some really talented and skillful writers here and I just recently got enough confidence to even consider entering, but I enjoy trying to tailor a story or a poem to the strictures of a competition now. And I think I am finding my voice, whatever the hell that means. A few other people whose opinions I respect tell me that they think I have a modicum of talent, and its fun to try to prove them right. Anyway....I look forward to the next one.

I can vouch for the veracity of her statement too Regina.

Well said Beth. Agree 100%. When I saw Reggies poem I was embarrassed by my hallmark style entry. It didn't take a genius to figure hers was a winner. So congratulations to all the winners and particularly to Reggie.... Again.
How about we don't steal the winners thunder by making this about ourselves? Congratulations to the winners, the runners up, and everyone who entered. a lot of really good entries this time around. everyone should be proud of what they wrote, regardless of where it placed.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

AVG won again! She's such an amazing writer! Way to go to the rest of the winners too! I'm proud to have read and verified some of the top ten!
Congratulations to all of the winners and everyone who placed and entered.
Kissing your lips while straddling your lap.
Congratulations to all the winners! I am very honored to be mentioned in the same breath as them.
Congratulations to all the winners and runners up.

Also Thank you to Nicola for having the comp and to the mods. I saw how many entries their were for this comp on top of the usual amount of work you have submitted so well done and thank you all for your hard work making this comp work for us all.

@ Will_Greybeard

I am sorry you feel this way. As a novice writer, I saw this an opportunity to see how its really done by the far more experienced writers here. The winners and runners up were exceptional, I never expected to win or even come close to winning, but I for one really enjoyed this competition it was fun.

Once again Congrats to the winners and runners up

Hell yeah, a big congratulation to the winners of this competition. Poetry isn't my thing, but I read a few and wow! You all did such an outstanding job.

Also a personal shout out to Playsit for making the top ten! YAY!!!
