Sure thing, if they're showing off things other than their stories.
Finally somewhere I can showcase my garden gnomes and perhaps earn me some dosh. 😇

My biggest concern reading about this new upcoming feature - "If you do x/y/z on the video chat, I'll give you xx coins." IE paying for sexual favors via a currency that can be changed to vouchers.

You can't use coins in chat at all as we specifically wanted to avoid this. The spirit of it is to reward authors not performers. We will keep a close eye on it to make sure it's not being abused in any way.
Interesting how that all panned out. Came across a profile with this in the About section.. she's not an author, no stories published but is using the coins exactly the way Utterchaos predicted
My series about Chloe the dominating stepdaughter who controls her submissive stepmother has finished. It all started with Her Panties but does it end Happily Ever After?

No shock. From my understanding of this thread, not violating any rules, either. Would be interested to know how many others there are collecting coins for things other than stories. I know (not think, know) she's not the only one.
I have bowed out of the coin economy for now anyway. Gave tips to two favourite authors to clear out my "bank" and not in a rush to refill it. Quite happy without them.
A strange little something for Halloween.

I think rules around coins were always a bit of a joke.. just funny how people promised it was going to be all pure and about the writers.. like the whole site was going to be about the writers lol

Lush never has been all about the writers, at least in my 11+ years here. It's a big part of it but the existence of chat and forums alone pretty much always ensured there would be a segment more interested in socializing and flirting than reading or writing. That's before coins and even before Lush 2.0. If they are ponying up for memberships, I am fine with it, really. Keeps the lights on for everyone, including authors and readers.

I don’t give a rat’s hiney what others do with the coins, so I hope the feature stays. I don’t think tipping peeps for naked pics takes away from authors. Those tippers probably wouldn’t tip authors anyway.
Lush is many parts. Something for everyone. The culture has changed many times since I joined. Sometimes lots of authors. Sometimes lots of readers. Tippers will change too. Personally, I love giving out tips. I have a full time career, so not looking for tips as a money source, but they are fun when I get them.
My only suggestion would be to lower the cash-out minimum to maybe $20.
So, tip on, peeps! 😎
Kindness is contagious. Spread it! ❤️
My thoughts are if you purchase coins, they belong to you. You should be able to do as thou wilt with them. I don't anyone telling me how I can and can't spend my money. I understand the spirit of the coins, but there are always rule benders and breakers. Why does anyone care what someone else does with their coins. It's like weed. Why do people care if other people smoke weed or eat gummies? Or porn? Why did people go to prison for making (PG to R rated by today's standards) porn in the 50s? The fact is most will coins will circulate on the site and never get redeemed. As stated above, it helps keep the lights on here. Few people will ever accumulate 450 coins unless they are selling something or have a super fan.
The entire purpose of the this site in my mind is freedom without judgement if there are going to be rules (excuse me stupid rules over a bit of virtual currency it is time for me to move along. I did not come and pay my money to have a housing association tell me what I can an cannot do. I like most came here to enjoy the interaction of whatever, porn, buildings, birds or BSDM, what ever I bloody well please. I agree with Vampire_vixen I will do as I damn well please with my coins.

This.
If you're here for the stories and believe only stories and their authors are worth Lush Coins, use them that way. If you think a nice pair of titties is worth Lush Coins, use them that way. The end.

Platinum is 1875 coins and not 1200 (perhaps that was the Black Friday deal now finished). Furthermore there is no fee for using coins to purchase a subscription. That only applies to 'cashing out'.
How do you do it, John? X

I assume you mean to gift a membership. So you must be Lush friends. On the members profile page, that you wish to gift, you will see that option I think under the profile cover image. The rest is straight forward.
Thank you. X

Well, they to be an unpaid member too. I recently gifted someone a month, then took up a collection for a platinum. The gift button had disappeared. I just sent the coins directly and they bought an upgrade themselves

If the member already has a gold subscription then yes the gift option is not apparent. I have however dealt with requests from members to gift the platinum, when they have a current gold, if that is what someone wants to do.

Coins are no longer given with a subscription purchase.
Any specific reason why? (In case people ask)
Private Show - A man and his wife ditch a public performance in favor of a private one in this microfiction piece.
Perfectly Imperfect - where love and sex collide and a man knows his wife better than she knows herself.
The Naughty Babysitter - Part Three - Katie gives up control of her body.
Boardrooms & Boudoirs Part Fourteen - Chapters 53-56 - Grace deals with feeling out of sorts.
As an author, I don’t care what people use their coins for. I’m not writing for coins. I’m writing for my own pleasure for the pleasure of my readers.
I’ve looked at it and wondered what are those about? No one‘s ever given me any and that doesn’t bother me a bit
But for me, I’m just here to write stories
