Gav, I know we can save the chat logs ourselves, but do the chat logs get saved on the Lush server(s), or are they held in client memory only?

The chat logs are currently stored on the server. We currently keep 14 days worth of chat history for each room. I can see this feature continuing with the new version. Maybe rather than saving the logs now while you are in the room, you can see the logs in some kind of archive on the server? I guess something similiar to how stores all your chat logs, which you can search through at a later stage.
I'm starting the UI design tomorrow, how exciting!

Thanks for the info, being able to search archived logs would be good. Otherwise it was just a curiosity, sometimes for unknown reasons I just like to know the answer to things.

Yeah we have to be careful with the log searching. I dont think you should be able to see the log archives, unless you were part of the chat conversation.

I was wondering if there was a way to organize your box of friends so you can have your main friends listed first rather then new friends. It would make it so much easier then waiting for the friends page to load. Plus I keep losing all my friends sexy av's

And just to make you life a little more difficult than it is, would it be possible to have the online status and a little poke button next or under the names so you don't have to go to their profile page all the time. That way you can do everything from you profile page.

I don't know if this is possible, but it would be very nice to have a different chat room for each genre listed, i.e., bmsd, gay, lesbian, , etc.... that way people interested in a particular subject get to chat together...without interrupting others.....

You can start a private chat with someone within the chat room. I dont remember how to do it though. Ask Bikebum....he is the one that showed me.

Just left click the person's name in the list column then select private chat.....

There is only one problem (and it would not be because of the design) and that is the people. Unfortunately it is up to the members to make the chat rooms work. They will either make it or break it. Hopefully not the latter.
So if you could come up with a program for the members in chat you will have created the perfect chat room.

Admittedly, I'm not into coding - I've always worked in the networking/bandwidth/routing side of teh internets.
I have used several chat programs, and the ones which had the most enjoyable interfaces for me, were early ICQ, late 90's early 2000's AOL/AIM - and the last several versions of messenger.
I admit to being particularly fond of the older AOL chatroom format.
I do hope you can prevent spambots from invading.

@WellMadeMale The chat rooms will be based upon http to ensure we have the best coverage of browers and different OS's. I really want to create an easy to use and light weight system, so that it could (in theory) be used on a mobile, or smart phone such as an IPhone.
