For gav.

This is a sample that was taken from the topic http://www.lushstories.com/forum/yaf_postst17524_Yay-I-can-post-pictures.aspx

This is what appears once posted:

not that you would know if I was anyway...you have a bag over your head

See, this is why I wear the paper bags. Stops the brain cells fading away into nothingness. Want to borrow one? LOL

OK, went to the link and right clicked and copy image location and then came here and clicked on and clicked in middle and clicked on paste -

EDIT: Now I can't even get a upload pic to work.

ok will work in new reply

EDIT: just noticed last highlight is working now ????
I've asked Gav to stick his head in.

If we are not hosting the image, and you are copying it from sites like freewebs.com or any of those others, it's called hotlinking, and many sites disallow it. Those images will not work, they are protected with a script.

You have to upload the image from your computer to our servers, to guarantee it will show. Not sure if that's the issue here.
@Fugly, you were successful in your mission to daze and confuse.

What is the problem? Sometime when you paste a URL for a hot linked image, it doesnt work? Can you send me a sample URL that doesnt work.

Thanks!
Testing:

Upload image using grey landscape button and URL of image:

Upload image from my laptop using yellow landscape button:

I can't replicate the problem at all.

I think it's to do with using images hosted by other sites.
it appeared in the post as dontknow with no : on either end.

The last thing I noticed that I was missing an entire sentence as highlighted in the example. It showed up the 'post new topic' and 'edit' but not in the forum.

Oh, and I couldn't upload a pic from the hard drive which I have never had a problem with before but worked when I posted a new reply.

I am hoping it was just a glitch that day, but worried that it happened in the original post and then this post (in the quote area on first post).

Still confused??? GOOD Makes two of us LOL
Again the emoticon/smiley didn't work on the above post under the first quote ???? I clicked on the smiley, did not type it.

Same as when I did a image link to the button of 'image link'. Worked fine, but then displayed in the forums as [img]http://upload.lushstories.com/985-Capture13.PNG"/>. Again it changed the ending to "/> instead of "/>.

The red should have been (without the space at the end of course) but didn't work. I gather that is the code, but don't understand why sometimes it displays the picture and other times it displays the address and the code at the end.
Ooooh, interesting biggrin
This call for testing!
I can't find the problem, I think it's browser or user related. I wouldn't call it certain though.
