Received email from Lush titled: New Stories and Profiles this week

I thought the email I received today was a nice reminder to visit the site more often.
That's fine with me, so I clicked one of the handy links in this email to save me looking up my bookmark.

Here's the problem. It doesn't take me to https:// www. lushstories .com . It takes me to https://m.lushstories.com/join/complete/1 . All the links in this email but one to ask for help, all take you to the same page.

It is a nag address designed to force you to "Complete Your Profile".
Every link on this webpage takes you straight back to the "Complete Your Profile" page.

I did finally realize that the site address was not as usual, and found that I could navigate to and use the site as usual with my normal bookmark, without doing anything to my profile.

If the operators of Lush want us to have a fully filled profile as a condition of membership, please do say so clearly. Otherwise, for me, this sneak attack just annoys me. It makes me want to come here less often, not more often!

This is my opinion, and as such, I do not expect anything from anyone. I simply wanted to voice that opinion.

I completely understand how such emails might be annoying. I hate that kind of thing. That said, lush is more than a sex stories/forum/video site. It is an adult social media site, like a sexual facebook, but with much better software.

So, as friendly advice, you would benefit from picking an avatar and taking the time to let people know who you are, or at least who you want to be known as. Only by building friendships and joining into our community can you really appreciate what Lush has to offer. A big part of that is your profile page. Many people who may be interested in your posts, stories or chats will go to your page to see who you are before sending friend requests, or accepting them for that matter.

Anyway, however, you Lush is up to you. There is a whole community ready to welcome you

Unfortunately the auto-generated emails from the mobile site are unable to be coded in such a way that desktop users receive an email with desktop links. The email was sent to all members not just those who signed up on the mobile site.

This will change.

Only members active on mobile will get the auto-generated emails (which you can unsubscribe from in one click if it's your preference) in future.

Desktop members will be sent a different version of the fortnightly emails, with desktop links.

Thanks for the responses. The information is appreciated. I use Lush nearly 100% for the stories. I do not want to use the social features, or anything else at this time. If I change my mind, I know how to edit or create a meaningful profile. A non pushy occasional reminder of the feature is always fine with me.

Precisely.

In future you will not receive emails which point to the mobile site if you are on desktop only.

Those active on the mobile site, will get the email with the correct mobile links (and may be "prompted" to complete their profile as that's how the software matches up stories / members who might be of interest).

Desktop users will be sent a revised version with correct links to the desktop stories etc.. I need to manually organise that as it's not going to be an automated process like it is on the mobile platform.

The mobile site is still a work in process, as is the platform it's based on.

Trying to pair up 2 versions of the same site, has proved quite problematic, but I'm very happy with how the mobile site has turned out.

Here is one of my pet peeves.... No avatar. Just how are is it to take what a minute and post one?? BTW they can be something as G rated as a flower!!

The only problems I had with the mobile site is that it had my Birthday wrong and when I goes to fix it it won't stay on the correct date and my profile picture....it won't accept the one that I want to use. This is very frustrating.
