Reoccurring Request

Hi

I see a reoccurring request for people to be able to see what members have viewed there profile. I'm working on a new dashboard for when you login, wonder if it’s worth reporting this information.

What are people’s thoughts or concerns? Personally I don’t care who sees I've been to their profile page. If I'm on your page it’s usually not a good thing smile

Of course if you have blocked the member then you will not be recorded. Also we will not record multiple times within a timeframe.

Discuss....
I personally don't think it matters, there already is a "who is viewing currently" spot. I have sometimes wondered but then I can say it would make me mad if they read my profile then totally disregarded all that I say on it. And if I can't see if blocked people are stalking my profile not sure of the point. just my 2 cents.

I'm going to say no on this one. This site does more than enough for free and the view member spot is adequate. I say make it a gold member perk and see if people are willing to pay for that option.

My opinion has not changed since the last time this was discussed officially: http://www.lushstories.com/forum/yaf_postst24203_Would-you-like-to-be-able-to-kno-who-has-viewed-your-profile.aspx

However, I think that if people are desperate for it, a Gold perk is a great idea.

I have rather enjoyed the anonymous stalking capabilities which Lush has afforded me for the last 3 plus years.

It wouldn't bother me though if people noticed that I had, on occasion, browsed their profiles. I'm easy to please, so however you wanna doll things up around here Gav, I am game - because I welcome change/progress/doing stuff just to see it done.

I used to watch with amazed admiration as middle managers would get hired and come into functional departments and then rearrange the seating of their 50 plus employees around the gopher farm - just so they could say they actually accomplished something monumental inside the first ninety days of their promotion. I suspect simply to justify their own brilliant worth to the corporatocracy.

On another note, I do have my own reoccurring request for the scratch n sniff webpages - and it appears that Google is rolling out their own invention. Perhaps you can grab some of that code from those guys & implement here sometime in the next two or three years?

It's cumming!
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
I think it is unnecessary. Given that you have the ability to block anyone from seeing you, that should solve any concerns that people have. There are over 170K members here. Do people actually want lists of anyone and everyone who has glanced at their profile?

I think the privacy settings available are sufficient.

I agree. I think making 'browsers on your profile' accessible to the profile's owner opens a whole new set of issues. If you don't want random people to see your pictures or videos, then adjust your settings to restrict access. Otherwise, part of the fun and freedom is that somebody can view the info available without getting unsolicited feedback on it.

"dude, why did you look at my profile 15 times the other day?" LOL. If somebody admires you enough to want to be found out, they'll find a way to get your attention. Let everyone continue to creep in peace.V5JWQNjW4pcJK5NE

Made me giggle when they mentioned safe search would be on for your own protection.
Edited

I thought this might be a good idea at first, but after reading other peoples points, it boils down to not such a good idea. I’m not sure we should have it at all. I do know I enjoy going on a few of my friends pages a lot and don’t think they need to know it.. c: So, no I don’t think we need to see how much some people stalk others.
Hmmm.... honestly - I think it's a bad idea. Let's call it the Drama Option. I don't really see any real benefit to this function other than knowing who is creeping on your profile for gossip-sharing, return-stalking (ie. it could be like the new 'poke') or igniting possible feuds.

Are people going to call each other out on it?

PM: "Hi, I noticed you have visited my profile multiple times this week. Why haven't you a) friended me b)read and scored my latest story c)opened a chat with me or d)commented on my new pics because I sent out a mass-PM last week asking everyone to do that, but you haven't yet"...

... or any other number of accusations that would likely escalate with frenemies and drama queens (ie. "that bitch told me she's done with me and yet she's still on my page every day!")

... or jealous master/slaves or cyber-relationshippers ("My slave has informed me that you've been regularly stalking her profile page. How dare you?! Nobody is allowed to look at her page without my express consent and it says so right in our bios!" or "I just wanted you to know that MonsterCock69 is my man and he tells me everything, so you should probably stop creeping on his page, slut!")

I can just see it dissolving into multiple messes between cliques, friends, and Lush-relationshippers.

Having said all that - it could be entertaining too.

Like many other things, I guess it just depends on how it's being used and the maturity levels of those viewing the stats. Looking at the idea in broad strokes, I think it has more pitfalls than benefits but if people are really wanting this perk, you could always roll it out for a trial run and see what happens. smile

Yeah, I agree with Doll, Jeff, Xuani, and the others who don't think it's a good idea...

I mean, do I really want someone knowing I visited their page 210 times in the last month? I think not...

210? Do tell... smile

I'll throw my opinion in also, I can't see this being of any great benefit to the site to be honest.
Can see it causing more problems than anything else.
As also mentioned though, a Gold Perk - why not? One more reason to splash the cash.
It's a bit creepy

If you do implement it, there needs to be a button to be able to turn off people seeing your tracks...
Shortly after joining Lush I always wondered who was viewing my profile.
As time moved on ,I just thought that they were some one, whom I had viewed & commented to..
Would it make any difference if I could identify some one viewing my profile? NOT REALLY!

In IMHO, we all entered the information, we chose to post knowing that it would be viewed by others..
So what ever the decision is , its fine with me..
this affects me not at all either way to be honest so I give it a resounding

Meh
I spend a great deal of my online time browsing around on WellMadeMale's profile, and I certainly wouldn't want him to find that out.

I totally agree with D_D and also agree with Principessa regarding the managing of the profile. So, I feel that it should be left as it is. As the website grows it’s fine to tweak it, but when you fall into the trap to introduce so many features, it can be made unfriendly and resentful.

At times if I read a story or a forum comment that I particularly like, I might go and briefly check the profile. It is one of the most significant window to that member; it’s there to be read.

All of these profiles are like homes on LS planet. Peoples pass by us all the time and they can. If they happen to knock by sending you a message than is up to you how to handle it and or let them in or not… but they can pass by your block, click and look at your window.

p.s. Do nicola, gav and cocokisses need to know that I check their profile every other day? NOOOOOO!!! I wrote this in disappearing bytes-ink, every one can read it but them. haaa

hmm yeah use the energy, time and dough to make scratch n sniff profiles webpages.. ooops than we would need the warning feature "OSP". Offending Stench Profile.. do not click. Hmm, I bet cocokisses profile would smell great.

Life is simple; we are what we eat and what we read. Talk is superfluous.
My stalker days are over if you do this... what am I going to do next sniffing pages?

Have some interesting experience with sambuca snif though ..that way no one will remember that they visited any page

I agree with you agreeing with the others. I also agree with your last comment. People (including me!) should be left to stalk in peace.

It sounds to me, young lady, like you may require a spanking. Several, perhaps.

A total waste of your time setting up after all people dont even need to be signed in to read the various profile's. Let the cyber stalkers get on with their sneaky looks we only put what info we want so it shouldn't bother any of us.

Oh fuck, I laughed so hard reading this.

However, I agree with this last bit...maybe go for a trial run and see how it all plays out. I personally don't care, but, as DD said, some people aren't mature enough to handle it. It could go down south really fast, depending on how people handle themselves.
