I'm curious as to why there is a scoring function related to the stories on this site? It appears that every story on this site is "Excellent" and worthy of a "5" as a score........maybe we should just go to "11". Is a high score of any tangible benefit to the author other than stroking their ego?
I find it interesting that on another site where authors post these same stories, most of them score between a "5" and a "7", but we're talking about a 10-point scale. To be nice about it, those scores would correspond to roughly "3"'s and "4"'s on this site.
The scoring on this site reminds me of when my kids played tee ball.........everybody is a winner just because they played and everybody gets a soda or ice cream, or both, after the game. Don't get me wrong, that's fine if you're 6 or 7 years old. I would just expect writers to be a little more adult where their stories are concerned.
