Sports figures, movie stars, music stars, people that are famous for just who they are, usually just piss me off at my own country. Our values are fucked up in this country.
We pay outlandish amounts of money to people that have egos the size of the planet cause they can read a line in front of a camera or hit a ball straighter than others or who's family started a hotel chain and yet I have known service men/women on food stamps. Teachers that can't rub two dimes together and firemen and policemen that have to make sure their spouse works so they can make ends meet. Scientists that depend on grants from other people so they can cure their ass of breast cancer or spinal injuries and can't get the money for stem cell research cause "gawd" might get pissed.

It's hard to understand a society that values the entertainment industry more than the service industry. I do okay as a teacher, but boy it grinds my ass when some 20-something pro athlete whines about getting a "raw" deal when he gets a few million less than he "deserves". Seriously?? OMG. And the BS that they need to be paid large sums because their careers are shorter than most people doesn't fly. For goodness sake, INVEST some of those millions instead of spending them all on ridiculously oversized mansions and whatnot. That way when the knees give out...there is something left for a rainy day. Okay....whose turn is it next on the soapbox??? (stepping down quietly...)

Millions, millions these people make. Think about it. What some of them spend on a weekend in the Hamptons, would pay off some people's mortgage.
Or what they spend on a pair of Manolo Blahnik boots for $1700.00 Imagine how that would feed and clothe a family of 4 for what? a month? 2 weeks? What a burden would be lifted off of them for a short while just to have someone give them what these people spend on a pair of boots that they'll wear once or twice.

Yes it floors me the amount of money the rich and famous spend on clothing and accessories....I'm sooo cheap when it comes to stuff like that...it's how I pay my daughter's dance bills...no one needs to know that my Coach purse is a knock off ($15 from Beijing...last time my hubby went there for business) or that I hit the 80% off sales at Kohl's. (okay...well they know now...lol).

Me!! Oh pick me! Pick me!!
Most of you know that I am a daycare worker.....as in screaming, snotty nose, diaper changing daycare. Do you have any idea how much I make?? Not nearly enough for what I do. I am esentially raising these peoples children!! I am not complaining, not by a long shot! But......what makes me so mad about where I live is lack of assistance from the Govement for those parents that are barely getting by. We used to have a program here that paid for, or helped out for childcare if the family didnt make enough. They are getting rid of this program. What are these parents suppost to do?? They are working, to pay the bills and put food on the table. How are they suppost to work now if they have no childcare? Oh and dont get me started on the state funded medical assistance!! My neice has to fib to get assistance! She has a son, that has asthma so bad that he gets hospitilized from it! She has 2 kids, and her husband works. But if she works too, they make too much to get the medical they need. What kind of BS is that????
