It's no longer in our best interests to serve hamburgers here. If you've posted accounts of past hamburgers you enjoyed, you can still access them through your profile.

Oh, that made me laugh...actually, I think you can still get hamburger, as long as it's not related to the bun...or something like that...go read the latest edition of the Lush guidelines and figure it out...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

If this is the image you want to present in an official capacity, carry on, I suppose.

Why do they call them hamburgers when they are supposed to be made of beef?

I say 'supposed' because they probably contain horsemeat and heaven knows what other animal they get their hands on.

Horsemeat is actually very good for you. It's lower in cholesterol and saturated fats then ground beef.

Better yet: what does a German-speaking person call someone who hails from Hamburg?

A Hamburger. Seriously. What?

It's because they originated in Hamburg, where I spent much of my youth, making meat helmets. The summers I spent in Rangoon, though. But the details of my life are quite inconsequential...

You would make outrageous claims like, you invented the question mark. Sometimes you would accuse chestnuts of being lazy

Wouldn't "The Gourmet" be better suited since this is food-related? It is kind of food pornish, in a way.
Hmmm... Well now that I look silly...
I like green jello. With tequila. In shot glasses.

Maybe this could be the travelling thread in the forum.

Everyday is like an Easter egg hunt. Who knows where it could be tomorrow!!

And Nudie? Jagermeister is actually palatable when mixed with grape jello. Strange but true.

BDSM.

Rachel? Any ginger utilization you'd like to share?
This is my favorite thread right now biggrin
At a time when everyone should be trying to move past a very ugly episode, those first few posts, coming from moderators, and on a section of the forum that has an official capacity, were hardly a positive step toward that goal.

The people who feel ill-used in the last couple of days aren't likely to read those posts as lighthearted fun, but rather as mockery and gloating.

That's what left a bad taste in my mouth.

All it did was make me hungry.

Someone owes me a Burger by the way.

The opening poster is not a mod.

Many people replied, politely, and with humor. Some mods. Some not. I, for one, was very glad to have a thread that was simply entertaining, and not a fight waiting to happen.
If it had been anywhere but the announcements and feedback forum, I wouldn't have said anything.

I agree. I have actually eaten it in Germany. But the quality I am talking about isn't the controlled type. We have had cases in the UK and Ireland where processed Beef Mince and Burgers has contained horsemeat (and other meats) of dubious origin. A recent study was done by the Dept of Health here on 142 Kebab shops. 1/3 of them were found to contain little lamb content but beef, pork and other unidentifiable meats. We make our own burgers and go to a local butcher, select the beef, and watch it being minced. More expensive I know, but we know exactly what we are eating.
