Growing up, my favorite memories always revolved around the kitchen. From eating holiday dinners together to learning how to cook from my grandfather. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family of chefs, so food was always amazing at home.
One of my favorite things that would appear on the kitchen table was my grandma's Swedish meatballs.

What was your favorite food growing up? Feel free to share recipes or pictures!
As a kid, probably spaghetti & meatballs with a cold glass of milk and chocolate cake for dessert.

I also loved going to my grandmother's house and getting fresh hot home baked peanut butter cookies or chocolate chip cookies. And guess what? I still do. If she knows I am coming over she always has a bunch of cookies baked for me to take with me. She also makes a great Pound Cake or Cinnamon Coffee Cake.

Questionable meat products. The first one is ham. Scrapple is an assortment of pork parts, and I do mean parts. Don't ever read a scrapple ingredient label.
My favorite drink as a child. They renamed it Ecto Cooler at some point before they stopped making it.

You must live near PA. Those are staples in my house and I love them!

i couldn't decide on one food so i chose a food related activity. as a kid i enjoyed trips to our local general store to buy penny candy. this was before they weighed your candy and actually counted it out. my grandfather would give us each fifty cent pieces and we'd feel like kings and queens as we picked out our loot.

Say. Her. Name.

There was a tiny shop in downtown Ottumwa, Iowa that sold only cotton candy, and the guy would make it in front of your eyes. Watching him make it was magical, like it was appearing from thin air. Now they sell it in bags, pre-made, and the magic is gone. Still pretty yummy. But no magic, except in memory.

I used to love that stuff!
Texas BBq
Crepes stuffed with this sweetened ricotta filling. Also, home-made lemon meringue pie and Baked Alaska.

As for junk food, it was cotton candy (when I could get it at amusement parks and events). I was rarely allowed to have serious junk food or candy, so this was like a major treat for me. I still get excited when I'm able to snag a bag now.
Cotton candy.
Churros
Black and white cookies
My Grandma's homemade Chicken soup
Challah dunked in brisket gravy

Two Saturday morning favorites when I was growing up!
