It's a ham and cheese sandwich, called sandwich mixto or bikini sandwich in Spain.

We use the word sandwich for a specific type of sandwich. For other kinds, we use the word bocadillo... And my favourite has tomato or olive oil (or both) and jamón:

I have heard it called a Joe Don and a Fertty. Our favorite sandwich shop near our house makes the very best I have ever had. We get it on French bread as a Poor Boy. It is a hot sandwich with roast beef and gravy with ham and melted Swiss cheese, dressed with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Hubbie likes his without the gravy. I like it when the gravy runs down my arm. The place we go too puts about an inch of meat and cheese on it. Too much meat for me so I give Hubbie about half of the roast beef and ham. We share a large bag of Zapp's Crawtators Potate chips and each a bottle of Barques Root Beer. It's almost orgasmic.

I have a few options here;

At Christmas, I do love cold turkey/chicken sandwich, just plain, add a bit of salt..

Then there is always the Crisp sandwich...

And probably my absolute fave is cheddar cheese with fresh, chopped onion...not very social though

If I went to specsavers I'd have a better view of your toastie and no one wants to see that up close and personal

Nothing in this thread indicates that a toastie is not in fact a sarni which it is, its just a toasted one, unless you make it in which case its a burnt toastie and inedible.
