If Lush administration put you in charge of the Lush forums, what existing guidelines would you enforce more or less strenuously? What guidelines would you eliminate? What guidelines would you add?

What are the things in forum that annoy you? Why? How can we as frequently commenting members make the forum better and more welcome to all of Lush?

I ask because in the last week or two several Lushies have expressed concern that things have gotten slow in here lately. And we want to get it going good and strong again. More to come later if this thread takes off. Time will tell....

i would make private forums so that only the people i like or that agree with my point of view would be able to post.
I don't know if this is in place already, but I would have threads deleted if they don't get enough replies within, say, a week, or if they have had no replies for, say, a month. That might clear up the forums a bit.

And as much as I love the games, I would clear out a lot of them, as they are often repetitive or just not fun. Let's make it easier to find better, more interesting games without so many "Would you fuck the avatar above you?"-type threads. (I wouldn't get rid of them altogether).

I sort of like LMB's idea of certain forums being restricted to certain members, like in The Pub. You could have threads specifically for more experience Lushites, and perhaps other for complete newbs.

In general, I think the forums are run pretty well, and it is a shame that things have gotten a bit slow.

I think the problem is, the internet is full.
Like many social sites, Lush's forums (and chatrooms) can become very cliquey. I find that with some of the games and threads, it's a repeating of a handful. Often, the handful are essentially chatting back and forth, making it difficult for newbies to join in.

It would be nice (regardless if you think it's kind of slow) to have new members feel like they can join in and provide some new "blood" ........

For sure, Yahtzee. People get comfortable with each other, and soon it's just banter between friends. But, it's always important for us to keep this in mind.

Damn. You're right. If they don't expand it soon, I'll keep getting this page:

Totally know where you're coming from with that, and it can be a little intimidating if you're new to the games. I always stick to the topic, easily allowing others to join in after me, even when I do partake in a bit of banter.

After all, the more people we have taking part in forum discussions and games, the more useful/fun they are.

I was trying to be eloquent with saying that the forums and chatrooms are cliquey.

There are in many of the threads the apt title of forum whores or attention seekers. Like, how many times do you need to add on to a thread of "what makes your day special" ..... one day - 5 times? Like .... really??

Thank you for allowing others to join in after you .... Newbies appreciate it ... but often the handful are the ones that take over .... it's not just my observation, but many members.

So, how to make the slow times faster? I have no idea ... I just wanted to give my thoughts.

I totally agree with this, Yahtzee! I also find on the "sex" threads that when men try to post to women and the particular woman happens to be a bi/lesbian they get very hostile/disrespectful towards the men or skip them on the posts. If you're not into a guy or anyone for that matter, don't "skip" them to get to someone else, just wait until the next time around. Seems like bad forum manners to me.
I concur with the above.
too many topics - several of them are going no where fast. A bit of editing would do no harm - time to kill off some of the games that have gone on too long.

I would probably take a laissez-faire attitude.

So my rule would be, "who gives a fuck what people post, just jump in."
I agree with felix, just jump right in.

Lush gives me the freedom to be anyone I want to be. Some days I'm outrageous other days a tad shy. If I didn't enjoy my Lush time I wouldn't be here giving my two cents worth. Sometimes certain forums do get a little boring, other times just one post is worth its' weight in gold.

Only one guideline is really necessary...remember your manners....don't be offensive

Yes! If you post in a thread game like "Would you fuck the person above you" or "Lick, suck, taste" then you are fair game to the person that comes behind you. Unless that person says something extraordinarily crude, you are open to whoever posts next. If you are selective of who you want to speak about you, stay out of the game. If the person above you is someone you don't want, just wait. Sooner than later a hottie of your liking will post and then you can cyber flirt all you like. No need to tear anyone down. If see good ol' Hap post in "Would fuck the above...." I'm not going to rip him a new asshole (although I think Hap may enjoy an extra orifice because he so desperately wants to be DP'd) I'm going to wait until Curlygirl or Wildcat post under him. Then I pounce on those little hussies! lol

Hussies?? I thought I asked you only to call me that in private? I am so skipping your ass on the next forum thread!!!

A lot of forums and websites slow down in the summer and around holidays. People get busy with real life and real people instead of sitting in front of the computer all the time. It happens everywhere.

As for having threads for certain members, I don't think that's going to happen. We don't segregate here at Lush. We welcome one and all to participate in everything we have to offer. Might I suggest that if anyone wants a private place for themselves and like minded friends that they start a chat room and invite each other to play in that area.

You're silly. Maybe when it gets cooler and the kids go back to school the naughty people will have more time on their hands to play.

I agree with Yahtzee. I would in fact (if I was in charge) delete many of the forum games, as at times, the only difference is an extra word in the title.

I understand also what Yahtzee is saying about the newbies. I have seen them come in, post exactly what all the others are posting, but get a very unfriendly reply or even skipped, because they are not part of the group. It is very sad to watch.

As an adult site, I am surprised by the lack of respect I often see on here.

The only thing I would change, because we do still need to follow rules - not just Nic's, but the law, which is 99% of nic's rules - is code the forums so that in the Active Discussions - Latest Posts would not contain any of the forum games so we can see more of the last 5 more interesting topics/discussions. 9 out of 10 times, the last 5 have all been forum games and all from the same people. I don't think it's possible, but I can only dream.

No offense intended but I just simply don't give a fuck, who you want to fuck LOL

Good point about the active topics Fugly, I think that entire forum should be kept out of the active topics, as well as the ticker on the front of site. Gav now has it on his to-do list.

A lot of people enjoy those game threads, deleting them wouldn't be right, but they need to be moved to the archives. I don't visit the game forums at all, unless something really catches my eye.

Yes, it's time to do some forum housekeeping. I'll do it this evening if I get time. I've been very busy of late, renovating my house, getting it ready for sale

Oh Lordy...you almost made me spit up my coffee...

Give him a call, he'd come back for you...

Yeah, I agree about taking the forum games out of the active list...and no, none of the forum game regulars will ever read this thread...

I don't think any of the games should be eliminated...they seem to keep a lot of people busy and off the streets, though I don't know how some people can play them for any length of time...

I get a headache if I try to play something like "Word association game" twice in a row...way too deep for me...

I think your posts should be read by a moderator before they're posted, until you get like, ten posts and you've been here for a week, or something like that. That way, we can better weed out underage teenagers, pedophiles, trolls, spammers, etc.

We keep a close eye. Most people are decent about the whole society we have here though. They want a healthy, clean place to play and we try to give them that.
