My brother reminded me today of another one I had owned and driven for a while - a 1970 Audi Super90. I had it the same time as the '56 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pickup. I had forgotten about that car. I still have the Blaupunkt AM/FM/SW radio out of it, doing duty as my radio in the garage/workshop.

Brings back memories for sure. And I totally agree on the Scout - what a great piece of craftsmanship.
My total is 22... 28 if you add non-licensed. Of the 6 non-licensed, 3 were parts cars and 3 were just bad but cheap choices that weren't worth the effort.
I'm here anonymously so I won't post specific makes and models other than half a dozen 2nd and 3rd gen Chevys (plus I'd be giving away my real age).
Of the 22, a few were daily drivers and winter beaters for the hobby cars. I rarely owned less than two vehicles at a time.
Today I only own and drive one vehicle. I bought it over ten years ago.

DLizze, you owned a "Microbus"? Those things were/are awesome! Husband's grandparents had one with a tent thinger that popped out of the top of it. I think it was the VW pea-green and white two-tone paint job, too. So hot.

The construction boom of the 70's and early 80's was good to me, so I had all this money and nowhere to spend it except to build another new toy
They were cheap at the time, but looking at the prices they bring now, I wish I still had a few of them; especially the GTO and the two 57 Chevies.

None of the younger guys knew what a 409 was, but for $50 a gear, I was more than happy to show them ;)
This would have been in 1984. I wasn't talented enough to attempt the step fades and cobwebbing that were on it when I got it, but I think I did a pretty good job of capturing the spirit of a 60's custom
Then there's a few that I kick myself for not grabbing when I had the chance: a 70 Cuda AAR, in the middle of a ground up restoration, for $1200 ... The NOS stripes, alone, were $700
And the time a collector was telling me about a wrecked 69 Trans Am convertible (one of eight made) sitting in a junk yard in Colorado. "It's not worth it," she said. "It would cost you $30k to fix it up." Last time I saw one sold, it brought almost $2 million!! That would have been the best $30k I ever spent.

300 range, bought the first at 14, 72 Javelin.... that's about 30yrs. ago, 5 porshes- 914's,356's, 911's, 930... sunbeam tiger, every muscle car made by chev. up to the early 70's, about 50 or so vintage Jeeps/Willys, restored over 75 w/a cruiser or 4 in that #, traditional Hot-Rodding is the game now, with a Love for the Series Land Rovers also now....

I count 12 over the course of 35 years. Where I live, 4WD is practically a necessity, the first was an International Scout. Didn't see mention of one of those from anyone else. That vehicle would go through any weather conditions, but it was definitely utilitarian. It succumbed to rust at too early an age, but it really sold me on the SUV. I love my Ford Escape (current vehicle)

I have to say, looking over this list, Lushkins have had some interesting cars...
Though, some bring back some memories which aren't all good...I knew someone who had a Healey as well...the exhaust ran under the rear axle, and scraped everything in the road...
Then, of course, there were Lucas fuel pumps which ticked in the morning...when they felt like it...
And SU carburetors, which looked so damn pretty under the hood...but never stayed in tune...

My '61 "big" Healey was a BT7 - that's the three carb model. REAL sports cars don't have roll-up windows; they have side curtains. :-) I discovered when I was working as a mechanic, the trick to making either SU or Stromberg carbs stay in tune is having a good valve train. The carbs don't really go out of adjustment all that much, but if your intake valves have too much or too little lash, or if the seats are just slightly worn. The car will act like the carbs are out of adjustment.
I'd much rather deal with a simple carb like an SU, or a Mikuni, or almost any of those vacuum throttle ones than have to rebuild a Rochester 4 barrel, or a Weber Dual sidedraft.
@ suezq - I had a '67 International Scout - It was one of the best off-road vehcles I ever owned. In the summer, I took the doors off it, and walking beside it with the hand throttle, used it like a tractor to skid logs and to pull a horse-drawn cutting bar, with my wife sitting on the seat, to provide weight.

Update: Totaled the Geo Tracker on Feb 11. Now have a 1987 Mercedes Benz 300 SDL - It hs 376k miles on the odometer, but Mercedes deisel engines are good for 1/2 million miles before they need to be rebuilt

My SHO was like that. I loved that car. I put 400,000 miles on it personally, and really had to be talked into selling it. Only ever changed the clutch, brakes, and tires. The day before I sold it I was kicked the pants of the kid who tried to race me. just a fun car all around.

I think the Mark I and II Healeys had a prettier line than the Mark III. Although I know they are not as collectible, I'd buy another Mark II BT7 in a heartbeat.
