When I can't sleep I turn on the radio and listen to Coast to Coast, the talk show about aliens and Planet X and the hollow earth theory and the Taos Hum and ghosts yadayadayada. It's on in 16 minutes!
God how true is that one Gill, it's more like periods of unconsciousness that really don't result in restless and productive sleep.
I gave in and got a short course prescription for sleeping pills today. Here's hoping I can sleep easily, and stay asleep tonight.
Hi Rachel, I hope you are sleeping now! I know they say no rest for the wicked, but sleeplessness is too cruel a punishment!
Trying to remember nice things which happened with you in the past sometimes relaxes & helps one fall asleep. I said sometimes, because it doesnt always work for me.
I found the cure for insomnia, anesthesia! Well at least for one night, apparently I can't have that every night. It lingers too, so I am going back to sleep now. Or maybe it's the pain meds, either way who cares. I actually slept all night. I'm sure in a few days I'll be back to not sleeping. See everyone then. In the meantime I am having a love affair with my bed and pillows, they've missed me.
Has anyone else here tried Melatonin? Not the homeopathic stuff, the actual stuff. I finally got mine, took it the first night and slept for a good 7-8hrs for the first time in 2 months. Unfortunately due to the sleep deficit I was so tired I also then snoozed on and off all day long. I've been a bit scared to take it since as I actually need to be functional. Then of course tonight I have no slept at all. I had too much on my mind but I should have taken the melatonin and shut it down. I'm thinking tonight I will feed my kids at like 5pm and then put a movie on for them so Dad can put them to bed when he gets home and I'll crash and see if I can get 14hrs straight. If you haven't tried it, I'd highly recommend it. Staying asleep is most of my issue and because it is slow release it seemed to have done the trick. Hopefully more than once LOL
