So Lushies...what were your resolutions for 2012? Did you keep them? What was the deciding factor which caused you to break your resolution, if indeed, it was broken?
My resolution was to continue to stay in shape. I signed up for my 2nd half marathon, running it next month...the issue is that I haven't been training for it and now it's 5 weeks away. So you can say that although I haven't kept my resolution, I really just haven't started it yet...which my be the same thing depending on which side of the road you're standing.
Today is day 1, running 5k - 7k, depending how good I feel...
So Lushies...What was your resolution and did you keep it??
My New Year's Resolution was to Not Screw up in university ....Still Going Good But Come March April I Dont Think I'll Still Be So Good on The Whole Resolution Thing....
I call it my plan because I know I will never keep to them all but my aim is too
1/ to stop raising my voice in anger. To stay calm in the face of my 4 rather persistent instigators of trouble and mayhem
*so far so good with that one, its amazing what a calm, no-nonsense voice will achieve. Will have to see how that holds up with the advent of shool and resulting insane schedule that that entails
2/ to start and stick to, my fitness regime. To make a start on my training for my first marathon. I can't manage that this year, but I'm hoping that next year will be the year. As my sisterinlaw and I plan on running the NewYork marathon together I better get my arse into gear.
*ok, into week one of this, Ive got 10km sorted, now how many more do i need to do before I can book my flights?
;) so hoping that i can keep up the momentum
3/ This is to be the year of something for me. After 10 years of putting the needs of others in front of my own, I would love to do something for myself. Just something small.
*hehe who am I kidding no time for that just yet. But it is on my list so you never know
My New Year's resolution is the same as vanessa's, but just add not to annoy me lecturers and try to act like I'm not completely hyper during lectures. (I have failed that last part already.....)
So far, I have kept my resolution to eat healthier. Working in a bakery, it's difficult to avoid temptation, but I have being doing well with it so far. Yogurt or fruit instead of a cinnamon roll for my morning coffee break, and staying away from the sample tray.
I've been trying to do better about exercise, but ever since a knee injury, I have not kept that up as well as I was before. I'll be having surgery soon, so hopefully I can be back to my former activity level following that.
