i need some ideas for a vacation this year. i haven't been on any type of vacation since august 2013, and even that was basically just an extended weekend. with the way the last year or so has gone, i figure i have a good one coming.

i had talked about going to vegas with my cousin and her husband, but they just bought a house so now that isn't happening. i have a friend who is also looking to plan a trip, and if we can find at least one other person who wants to go so we don't just look like a traveling gay couple (i mean no offense by that, it just sorta defeats part of the purpose of being single straight guys on vacation if people think you're gay, ha), we'll probably make some plans, but we haven't talked about where we want to go.

i'm not looking to break the bank, but i am letting myself splurge a bit. i've thought about still doing vegas, i've thought about a cruise, or maybe going to north carolina to visit some friends and spend some time out there. however, i'm open to considering just about anything.

what say ye, lushies? any ideas?
England of course...For Glastonbury...You can drink tea and eat scones in a tea shop Then rock your arse off to all the awsome rock bands...well thats my dream anyway...just sayin

FYI I wouldn't assume 2 men travelling together were a gay couple anymore than 2 female friends.

Can you be more specific about what you want?? I am assuming 2 non gay men travelling together don't want to go on a Romantic Gondola ride under the moonlight in Venice??

So what do you want? sun, snow, action ect?

But you know if money isn't an option and you need a 3rd party I am all for going to French Polynesia and visit all the Islands

i've considered england. i've never traveled internationally but england is one of a few places i'd like to visit, though i don't know what all i would do there...i just like the idea of visiting the country.

i don't think people would *necessarily* assume we were gay if it was just the two of us, i just think with any group, regardless of gender, people are more likely to have someone flirt with them/hit on them if they're in a group, rather than with only one other person. 2 people are looked at as a couple, 3 or more are looked at as a group of singles. not that i'd ever have the guts to do anything anyway, but a guy can dream can't he? smile

after this winter, all i can say for sure is that i DON'T want snow, lol. otherwise i'm open to just about any idea. i'm ready to get away for a bit, and hopefully see some things i've never seen and do some things i've never done. the exact details aren't all that important.

if you're going with me then my friend(s) can stay home. :P

Bora Bora here we come lol xo I'll pm you my addy and you can send me the plane ticket.

If you want sun I wouldn't come here right now, its bloody freezing...That said if you want sun I wouldn't come here full stop we are not known for our exotic climates.

If I was travelling with a female friend and bumped into two straight guys also on holiday I would take that as a huge bonus and result so I wouldn't over think or over worry about that tbh...It would be pretty obvious to us ladies you were not gay when you start undressing us in out bikinis with your eyes. Where as a gay man will be looking at the design and wondering where we got it lol...just kidding I love gay men they are awsome to hang out with. But still give us some credit we can usually spot if a travelling trio is gay or not.

You should branch out, try Jamaica I have been there I went to Ochos Rios...Its warm, great coffee and food, the jerk chicken is devine. You can drink rum punch on a boat ride on the ocean whilst dancing to Bob Marley.

The place I stayed at you could take a boat ride to a small adjacent island and it was for nudists if you like that kinda thing, I stayed put and kept my bikini on lol.

It's a fun place to go, people are friendly. You can enjoy the beaches ect, site sea but ffs dont drive they all drive like nutters over there and its insane because its full of really graphic traffic signs about dangerous driving Also if anyone tries to get you to drink a "Bob Marley" for the love of god don't do it lol

ha, maybe i'll just skip jamaica. it sounds like more of an adventure than i'm ready for. biggrin
Hard Rock Resort Punta Cana - upscale "all-inclusive" resort! Great time, beaches, spas, trips, golf course on-site, top-shelf liquor, casino. Who could ask for anything more. We're headed to Hard Rock Riviera Maya next week.
mr.D, Europe, of course. Buy a ticket for 3-4 weeks, rent a car and drive around what you want to see, or pick up train..It is absolutely lovey place to visit. Every country is different than other, with different culture and habits. It is a life time experience smile
but if you want something in US, I can't be really helpful.urQjr6oCgcX5nXhl
however, I hear Mexico is place to visit, at least people around me are fascinated with it, some even moved there :)

i would like to visit europe but i don't think i'll be able to on this trip. i expect that i won't be able to get away for more than about a week this time, and i don't think i could cover nearly all of what i would want to see in that short of a time. europe is more of a long-term goal i suppose, maybe in a year or two. :)

and mexico is definitely on my list of considerations...i have some friends who have been on a couple of vacations to a resort there, and they loved it.
well mrd, not sure what sparks your interest but my advice is to be a traveller not a tourist....go on an adventure that feeds your soul....road trip to Grand Canyon? Machu Picchu? I'd forget about Vegas unless you just want to have a well earned blowout. Nothing wrong with that but if it was me I'd do something that doesn't involve a tourist trap.
I was also going to suggest heading to Europe if you enjoy history/sightseeing. If you are looking for sun/fun/relaxation/golf/bars/nightlife (you can do this in Europe as well, just depends where you go), head to Mexico or the Caribbean. Hawaii would be a bit of a trek if you only have a week. St. John, Bermuda, Aruba, Antigua, St. Marteen (Martin) one of my faves, Bahamas. Depending where you go, you can do a day trip to another island. How about the Florida keys? You can hang out in Key West for a couple of days, perhaps fly over to one of the Caribbean islands for 2-3 days, then head home. St. Agustine is great fun too. Check out Groupon and Gilt for vacation deals. Costco/BJ's Wholesale/Sam's Club offer big discounts and package deals. Airbub is another site I use as well. Without a doubt, check out reviews on TripAdvisor before you book anything.
I hear Siberia's a pretty cool place
When alone.. I like to go on Hunting trips. My next wanna be trip I wanna try is Alligator hunting down South not sure how I wanna do it? Like the show Swamp People or do the Night Hunt on a Airboat with a Rifle.

Now with me and My Girl.. I would want to take her hunting too.. Lol. But also to the beach or mountains maybe travel out west to Washington or Oreagon there's plenty of places to check out.. Mainly in the US.. We would have to be Married and she would really have to sweet talk me into leaving to travel out of the US... And I do mean a lot of Sweet Talking..
My next one will be to the Dominican Republic ...the exchange rate is amazing and the beaches beautiful

But what is your dream place..night life.. relaxing water and sun

Sight seeing historical places?

Went to mexico last year and the beach food and ruins were breathtaking!

Cannot wait to hear where u want to go smile
There "needs to be" at least 1 or 2 more trips to UK before we give up travel. My ancestry traces back several hundred years to England and I just feel "at home" when in the UK.

However we are looking at Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, etc. for 2016. Afraid my travels in 2015 will be under steering wheel of 18 wheeler ... going back to driving after "retiring" Dec. 2012.
