Question about spam?

I get a lot of spam with my own e-mail address, like if it was myself the one who sent the spam.

I've changed my password a lot of times, but the thing keeps going on. Could it be possible that there was a program that mirrors the same address of the person who receives the e_mail?

Like if sent an e_mail to , but lara received an e_mail from " "?

Does anyone know anything about this kind of stuff?

Thanks.
I believe thats when the email site itself sends you spam.... such as.... If you had you would receive spam from them and it would appear to come from you..... may i suggest switching to a different email provider?
There are some email viruses that will send emails to everyone in your address book as though it was coming from you. Do you have yourself in your own address book for some reason? Maybe check with someone else in your address book to see if they are getting the same emails. I was getting these from someone else for a while on a nightly basis and he had no control over them being sent. The good news is that it seems to stop at some point, maybe once the original spam-virus is confident that nobody is clicking on the link to buy online viagra. It seems to have a lifespan of about a month though.

I have a few friends with that problem as well. I've never had the spam that was sent to me from my account, but I have had quite a few recently that have "re:______" in the subject line. It's a good ploy, but luckily I don't send enough emails to think that these are responses to emails I don't remember sending.

I clicked on the first link that was sent to me... I had been hoping it was a link to some dirty porn...
It's called spoofing and it's been around since the dawn of the internet and email servers. Changing your password will not prevent this from occurring. Somebody or some email harvesting robot has collected your email (generally happens when people forward incessant jokes or other stupid shit (ie...spam) all around the place.

If you think it is truly originating from your email account (check your sent/outgoing mail box) to determine if someone has truly hacked your account. Chances are if someone has hacked you though, they will also change your password and that will be your 1st clue that you're hosed.

Ignore it. Sending incoming spam like that to your spam folder will only result in you sabotaging yourself in the future.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
Don't use . Free account for your immediate family and friends only, then you will know anything else is just spam.
