No, but one time a woman thought I was a Novella star (Mexican Soap opera) I let her believe it and my kids thought I was crazy.
Oo.. Forgot, I met Willie Nelson on his tour bus..must've forgot from all the pot smoking that night.
Julianne Moore and Willem Dafoe
the pope, shook his hand!...don't ask which one ...I'm not catholic
Pierre Trudeau...or perhaps Leonard Cohen. Or maybe Natan Sharansky.
The Princess Royal - Princess Anne.
I have met and spoken with 3 celebrities in my day, none really A listers. Two were as a child, Telly Savalas, the original "Kojack". He was on the same plane as my mom and I were when we flew back from Hawaii, also in Hawaii we met a young Danny Bonaduce, not that long after The Partridge Family had gone off the air. And in my early 20's I met and had my picture taken with Jeanne Cooper, who played Katherine Chancellor from The Young and the Restless at a mall appearance, which soap opera actors frequently used to do.
Met - Prince Edward
Seen - The Rock (in Sydney) Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe and David Hasselhoff (Bondi Beach, not at the same time obv), and all of the 2013 F1 Drivers, (in Melbourne)
I met Princess Diana once, and Queen Elizabeth II twice. I won't tell the stories publicly here though.
There is no 'tude like GeekItude!

Johnny Cash
Lou Diamond Phillips
Julius Irving (dr J)
Tom Seleck

Met all but one through work.
Hard to say, but with the word 'met' defined loosely...
In Politics:
Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, John Kerry, Gerald Ford
In Entertainment:
Mel Gibson, Idina Menzel, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan
Didn't hang out with all of them for extended periods or anything, but I did get drunk with one of them.
I had a beer with Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, in a pub when they were on tour in the UK a very long time ago.
A few years ago I went riding with Sarah Doukas (owner of Storm Model Agency ....Kate moss etc.)
On both occasions I was required to meet Royalty... I took the day off, don't do funny blood.
Politicians are mostly forgettable...met loads of them.
For many years I worked as a Music/Arts journalist so I've met/interviewed quite a few well-known people.
Five Highlights:
I once, with my friend John Moynes, had a few pints in an otherwise EMPTY nightclub with BOTH Bono AND Bill Clinton.
The Kylie Minogue experience. (Nothing REALLY happened.)
I once cooked David Bowie sausages, beans and chips.
I went on a 'date' with Sinead O'Connor. (A real date. Nothing happened!)
Visiting Jesse Wood, (son of Rolling Stone Ronnie) at Ronnie's estate in Kildare, I KINDLY brought Ronnie a bottle of wine. I was unaware that he was in Rehab at the time and we drank the wine. (Later my then GF swam in the pool dressed in Kate Moss's bikini...)
The Pogues' Shane McGowan once threw up on me in an elevator.
The Lulu experience. (In her 60s at the time, HOT AS FUCK!)
Kate Bush once made me a fry-up... (Not like that, it was in Windmill Lane Recording Studios.)
Dave 'The Edge' Evans once gave my then girlfriend his seat in a crowded nightclub. (Total Gent, BTW...)
I once watched Red Hot Chili Pepper Anthony Kiedas carry that SAME girlfriend onto the stage at Glastonbury for her gig. (Because she would have got muddy if she had had to walk...)
The Winona Ryder incident. (Things DID happen!)
I shagged David Byrne's (Talking Heads) cellist. (After interviewing Mr Byrne, a very funny, clever, NORMAL, charming guy.)
Alan McGee, (Creation Records) once got-off with my GF in a club, her excuse being she was "on E" at the time.
(THat was more than five. Want me to go on?)
xx SF
I talked to Steve Jobs for about half an hour at a wedding once.
When I was a little kid I met Charleston Heston. I remember he was a giant of a man. When I was in business as a contractor I did work for several stars and athletes in Malibu. They were really just regular people. My vision of people and the way they really are was a wake up call. Sugar Ray Leonard was small. Nick Nolte looked like a bum. Some were snobs and some were gracious. Just like everyone else.
It is not possible for me to name the most important people I have met.
But here is the second tier: I was a man who worked in the Oval Office's professor. (Is that vague enough?)
I have taught many Miss XYZ (3 different states) WINNERS.
I have taught a Miss USA.
I was great friends with many of Steelers of 4 Superbowl WINS Fame. I was closest to Franco Harris and his family as we traveled even traveled to Europe together. I know Mean Joe Green really well. We once shared a bottle of Chateau Le Fit Rothschild over a 3-4 hour conversation. He was once of the classiest men I have ever known! I have know many, many famous athletes as I was an active member of S.A.B.R.
I have known many famous people in classical music, opera, "flamenco," Latin dance, and ballet. I doubt if many would know be interested in that.
I have known some famous singers like Bobbv Darin (my Uncles close friend) and Sammy Davis Junior and his wife Altovese.
I knew many of the famous people in French, German, Dutch, Czech existentialism and phenomenology who would proof read my papers before I delivered them.
If I told you about the other side of the coin.....that is, who puts me on their lists...nah......but there is one person I have never met in person below and it kills me.....
I just had to remove this. Sorry everyone.
Only a couple of standouts. This is not a big topic for us.
