I finished a Century ride at the age of 64. The first two times I tried to ride 100 miles, I was unsuccessful a) due to a hurricane that came to Illinois and b) I fell into a river over the handle bars. Later I found I was infected by some nasty algae that took a few days of antibiotics to correct.
I am the most successful failure I know.
