It's funny that the people who want the most and complain the most, always seem to get the raw end of the deal. It just happens that way and I like it.
Torture the data long enough and they will confess to anything.

I know! I've worked in a couple different customer service jobs- the best one was at a chain drugstore- we called them redasses. They were always over forty, about 2/3 of them were women, and they were pissed the fuck off about life in general, but were happy when something happened to give them an excuse to bitch and moan at us.

They would be rude as hell too, but when we didn't kiss their ass with yes ma'ams and sirs- there they would go on about how nobody has respect for anybody anymore, blah blah. Excuse me? You're the one waging world war 3 over the fact that we won't honor a stupid competitor's coupon even though we "always did before- this is ridiculous! Can I talk to your manager?"

Then the manager backs us up and they act like the whole world's gone crazy except for them.

Yep, the one's that bitch the most are always miserable and always look like idiots, but in their minds, nobody has any respect, our competition is way better than we are (which is why you're here, right asshole?), and everything used to be better than it is now.

good memories there, lol.
I find the more you can go out of your way to ignore or piss them off (which ever comes first), the faster you can get an attitude adjustment out of them. Truly, people push harder if you let them and back off if you don't. Other than that, Hiding when I can works for me.

who raised these people!

Always loved this line on a friends tshirt Smile it confuses the hell out of people. but the joys of retail I so hate working retail can't do that shit anymore. I could never do the whole customethough like ya said always fun to try pissing them off without trying to piss them off lol
I love taking as long as I can to do something for someone when they have pissed me off to the hilt previously. Act like it is the most difficult thing in the world to complete the simplest task and restrain myself from breaking out in maniacal laughter

"When I was your age we had to walk 20 miles to school in snow up to our waists. And our family couldn't afford shoes for us kids either. We took turns wearing the same pair

But those reminiscing people who will tell you that finding employment in today's job market is simple and relatively painless is usually living off of a pension with a foot in the grave. Nowadays people have to jump through hoops in order to be considered for an open position. It is wholly pathetic.
When I worked at a clothing store I was the designated guy to tell unruly customers to basically go fuck themselves. I would be as nice as I could but some customers are just assholes. I loved when they would cuss or yell because then I could call security. It's fun to call security on a middle aged housewife

No we don't have more sizes in the back.
No it doesn't come in any other colors, yes I checked the back.
No this isn't on sale, that sale sign is clearly for another item.
No I can't return that because it's a pair of shoes, not just one.
No I can't return that because you cut the skew numbers off.

And on and on... They know they're being a pain but they still complain because most people give in just to get rid of them.

They do, Sometimes my boss would let costumers return jeans that we stopped carrying at least two years before.
